~~ THE  ELIJAH  MINISTRY ~~

Now I am looking at this:

Matthew 17

1. And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2. And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.

4. Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5. While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
6. And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
7. And Jesus came and touched them, and said, arise, and be not afraid.

8. And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
9. And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
10. And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
11. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.

12. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
13. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

As I read this and then turned back to read the prophecy in Malachi, I saw something I will try to show you.

Now Jesus told the disciples Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.

Then~~ But I say unto you, That Elias is come already. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

So from this we see that John had already fulfilled at least a part of that prophecy.

Now I wish to tell you that in the eyes of God the coming of John could also be before the coming of that great day of the Lord. To us it might seem like a long time, but not to God. He did come before that great day.

But look at Malachi at what he had to do and why.

Malachi 4

1. For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2. But unto you that fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

3. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.
4. Remember ye the Law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

5. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:

6. And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Now the great day of the Lord is clearly shown here to be the day God send his anger against this world and destroy the evil works out of the earth.

Verse 2~~ He speaks to the Christians.. He said to those who fear his name that the Sun of righteousness would arise with healing in his wings. This is speaking of at the time of the resurrection of Jesus... and ye shall go forth, and GROW UP as calves of the stall.

That speaks of from the Day of Pentecost...that the Christian nation will grow up in the world and grow unto an Holy Temple of the LORD. That has been going on since that day.

It continues on down through verse 3 until the time we reach full maturity at the end of this age and go out to destroy the wicked off this earth. That IS GOING TO HAPPEN. Nothing can stop it.

Then in verse 4 the people of that day, the O.T. people still in existence at that time are told to remember Moses' law, for they were still under it at that time.

Then verse 5, the promise. I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. (It did not say immediately or just before that day. We cannot add even one word to the Book without causing error.)

BUT~~ Look at what he was to do and why. He shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children...

Have any idea what that means?

It is of utmost importance to know.

The fathers were the O.T. law people........ The children were their people who came into the N.T. on the day of Pentecost.

So what did he say this Elijah was to do?.... Turn the hearts of those O.T. law folks unto the people who came into the N.T. salvation on the day of Pentecost and left that law behind. This was Peter and the rest of them. The New Church. These are their children.

So did John perform this? Yes he did. He prepared the way for Jesus to come in and turned the people to him and to baptism and repentance and told them of the coming Baptism of the Holy Ghost and Fire. He sent them to that. So he did fulfill that part of the prophecy.

John was the last O.T. prophet. So Jesus was the first N.T. minister. John sent his followers to Jesus. He turned their hearts away from the O.T. law unto Jesus and the N.T. Grace.

Zec. 4: 7. Who art thou, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

John 1: 15. John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16. And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.

Now see from all of this that John bore witness of Jesus, thus bringing forth the headstone with cryings of Grace, Grace.

The law came by Moses but Grace and truth by Jesus Christ...(lest I come and smite the earth with a CURSE!).

Yep, that is what it is!

Look! Back to Mal. 4: 6----He shall turn the heart of the fathers (O.T. law people)---to the children...

And the heart of the children to their fathers, LEST I COME AND SMITE THE EARTH WITH A CURSE.

Something powerful is here. Now who are the children in this last part of the prophecy? For the answer go to ...

Acts 2: 36. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Now we see from this that Peter has gone from being 'children' of the O.T. fathers...... to being a father to a whole new group of 'children. Verse 37.... All of these who were pricked in their heart and asked Peter and the rest of the apostles (the new fathers)..... What must we do, were O.T. Jews, or the first set of fathers.

So they knew the had to make a big change. They knew now that serving God under that law was no longer sufficient.

Peter told them to REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED EVERY ONE OF YOU (see not just part of them, all of them.).... In the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive WHAT?  SOMETHING NEW.  Not the old law.... No..... You shall receive the promise from God...the promise of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.

Who was he talking to? Verse 39~~ the promise is unto you (those standing there in front of him, the O.T. fathers) (this was turning their heart to their children, the apostles)... AND TO YOUR CHILDREN...

So now we are getting somewhere, "who that other set of children are!"

Your children.... not the children of the O.T. Law people....no!... The children of the converts to the N.T. Grace salvation of water baptism in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins and the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. Yes, their children.

In other words, the people they would bring to God through this New Way of serving God = the N.T. Grace salvation taught right here by Peter.

There is no other way.

So, back to the Mal.4 prophecy. Verse 6--He shall turn the heart of the (O.T. fathers to the children (the apostles), and the heart of the children (their converts) to their fathers.... (Now who was their fathers? The Apostles, of course)....

LEST I COME AND SMITE THE EARTH WITH A CURSE.

Now that is the part we need to examine and get straight.

It is very clearly telling us that unless the O.T. fathers had turned unto the N.T. grace salvation and accepted Jesus and His grace and gotten away from that old law way of serving God, that God would come and smite the earth with a curse.

People, that is the only reason we are still here.... Those Pentecostal fathers came into God's N.T. way of repentance in water in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins and then received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Holy Ghost gave them utterance and they let this become their REST.

They left their water pots and came to Jesus and accepted salvation apart from their works of keeping law. That is why Jesus did not smite the earth with a curse. John, the Promised Elijah did his job... Jesus did his job.... And Peter did his job... and now we their children must turn our hearts back to the Pentecostal fathers or the curse will still devour the earth.

So don't you see that it all had to end up at Pentecost?  Yes, all the O.T. people had to come into Pentecost; and all the people of today must go back to Pentecost.  That is the only acceptable place with God.

So when this shall be fulfilled, the second witness, the anointed group with power from on high will be on this earth again.  This is the only thing which can keep him from bringing the curse upon the earth.

Jo, I do not really remember this message or if I have read it or not. But as I was reading this I also saw that this was a prophecy from Ezekiel also.

Eze 11:19 *********** And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; ( New Testament)  and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, ( law and the 10) and will give them an heart of flesh: ( The Word that we eat.)

Eze 36:26 ********** A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you:( Holy Ghost) and I will take away the stony heart ( the law)out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
2Co 3:6 ********* Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
Mt 3:9 ******** And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones ( law) to raise up children unto Abraham.

Isaiah, that is a very good message.  I had never connected the 'heart of flesh' with it being the 'flesh' which we must 'eat' in order to have eternal life.  That is very good.
It amazes me how much there is to the Word of God.  It amazes me how I can be all over it time and time again and still miss something like this of such interest and importance.

It just shows it is living bread; which we must eat daily.  there is never any short supply.  There is food enough for the whole world every day.

This is good.  The more we dig the deeper we get.  The deeper we get, the better it is and the more we want to dig.  So just keep on digging and eating.  Someday we will arrive at the desired destination.

JO  (p. s.  this makes is very clear that the law is that stoney heart, and the Word is the heart of flesh.

Elijah is here

1ki 18:8 And he answered him, I am: go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here.

1ki 18:11 And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here.

1ki 18:14 And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here: and he shall slay me.

Mal 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. 4:3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

Mal 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

Mt 17:10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? 17:11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. 17:12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. 17:13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

Mt 11:7 And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John,...

Mt 11:10 For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

Mt 11:14 And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.

Lu 1:15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. 1:16 And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Elijah must first come and restore all things. Elias is come already. Elijah is here.

John shall go before him in the SPIRIT AND POWER of Elias. So then, going in the ‘spirit and power?of Elias is HOW Elijah came in John. It is not saying that John WAS Elijah.

Re 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. 11:5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. 11:6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

Re 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

.... The ‘spirit and power?of Elijah. So what ‘spirit?does Elijah work with? The Spirit of Fire. Watch this: Lu 9:54 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? 9:55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. 9:56 For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.

So what is the spirit of Fire for? Jesus told the disciples that they were NOT of that spirit of fire.... They were not to destroy men’s lives. Jesus also told them he himself was not of this spirit of fire. He did not bring judgment at that time.

But John the Baptist WAS in that spirit of Elijah. He brought an end, or judgment and death to that age of law. He said the ax is laid to the root of the trees. By this he meant that his ministry was to cut off that OT and bring in the NT. The law and the prophets were until John; since then the kingdom of Heaven is preached. So John ended the age of law and prophets. This then is that ‘spirit?of Elijah; of fire. Some contend that the return of the Elijah, which was to come, will bring again the keeping of the Law of Moses. But see that Jesus said this was accomplished in John. Now did John turn people to keeping the law? No, of course not. See from the above Scripture that right the opposite is true.

John was to prepare a people for the Lord. How did he do this? Luke 1:17 -- he turned the hearts of the OT fathers to their NT Pentecostal children; also the disobedient (those refusing the Holy Ghost) to the wisdom of the just. This was those who turned AWAY FROM LAW to the Baptism of the Holy Ghost which came at Pentecost. So then it is crystal clear that the Elijah which came in John turned away from law to the Baptism of the Holy Ghost; grace; faith; no law. Only love.See also that the Word said that both Elizabeth and Zacharias, John’s parents, were righteous before God, walking is all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless! What a testimony. So if what is needed for salvation is keeping the law, then why did both of these people have to be filled with the Holy Ghost? And see that it was directly connected with the birth of John that they were filled with the Holy Ghost and turned to the NT way of faith. So then this seals it that the spirit of Elijah, working in John, turned people to the Holy Ghost and away from law. This is solid proof then that the spirit of Elijah is NOT for the purpose of turning people back to law, but away from it.

From: IsaiahSent: 8/6/2006 7:50 PM

Now I know this is a lot of Scripture, which may seemingly be unrelated; but now let’s go back to 1Kings and tie all of this together.

In 1Kings 17, Elijah had said to the King of Israel, Ahab, there shall be no dew nor rain these years, but according to MY WORD.

Now that is a very bold statement, right? And to say that to a King? Such faith and power! Now as I have stated before, you must seek the spiritual revelation of all Scripture, not just read the story part.

God then told Elijah to go hide himself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. 1ki 17:4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

So after cutting off the rain, Elijah is told to go hide himself. The ravens brought him bread and flesh in the mornings and evenings; and he drank of the brook. But after a while the brook dried up, for there had been no rain in the land. The ravens are a type of the seven churches; so is the brook. But an end came to that; the brook dried up. See after the first Apostolic Church was gone, then that ‘brook?of the flowing of the Holy Ghost and the power of God soon dried up. There was no more good food flowing from heaven, for the ‘ravens?had taken over the church. Without the ‘rain?of the Holy Ghost, that brook dried up.

Next God told Elijah to go to Zarephath in Zidon. God had commanded a widow there to sustain Elijah. So who is this widow? Go to Romans seven. There Paul told us that in order to be married to Christ, we must be dead to our first husband, that law. The law has to be dead to us IF we are to be married to Christ. So then this widow is the true bride of Christ. See she is a widow; in other words, she is dead to that first husband, law.

She recognizes Elijah as a man of God immediately. The bride of Christ knows those that are his. They hear his voice in everyone who is speaking the true voice, or words of Jesus. They have faith and are obedient to the Words spoken by the Elijah’s of their day.

The famine was in the land, for the rain had been cut off. This woman was down to her very last bit of meal and oil. She intended to cook this for herself and her son and then die. But when Elijah asked her to give him the first cake, she obeyed. This shows the bride loves her neighbor as herself and is not selfish. This is the love of God in her.

After the rain of Pentecost was cut off, this true bride fled into a wilderness where she was fed by the Elijah’s of her day. (Rev. 12:6). Realize that this is the hidden manna. The rest of the world knows nothing about this supernatural food which she and Elijah ate during that entire three years.

God is giving His True Word, the revelation of it, to the widows of our day. By this I mean those who have died to law and walk in pure faith and grace and obedience to the true message of God today. We eat the hidden manna of the Word, which the worldly church knows absolutely nothing about. They feed her there.

So what was John’s message? Did he preach law? No. He preached repentance, baptism for the remission of sins, and grace. He said behold the Lamb of God. He made the way for Jesus. He made the way into the NT. This then is that spirit of Elijah. He cut off the old, dead way and brought in the live, new way. He cut off law and brought in grace. He set ‘fire?to that OT way of life. So then the message of the Elijah for our day is not law. John, in the spirit and power of Elijah did not preach law. He preached Grace. Isaiah had prophesied of John that he would prepare the way of the Lord. He brought forth the headstone crying Grace, Grace to it. So Elijah is not connected with law. The Elijah of today will cut off the dead, harlot church, just as John cut of the harlot law system.

How then will we know those who have the spirit and power of Elijah? The widow’s son died and Elijah raised him back to life. 1ki 17:24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the LORD in thy mouth is truth.

By bringing the boy back to life the woman knew that the Word of the LORD was in the mouth of Elijah. By signs and wonders the people will know that the Word of the Lord is in the mouth of the Elijah. The Word of God is proof that the Elijah ministry is here. We must always go by the Word. If their message does NOT agree perfectly with the Written Word, then they are not in the spirit and power of Elijah. Not only did he do the miracles, but also he had the Word of the LORD in his mouth. This is the most important clue = having the true Word.

Now when the three years were up and it was time for rain again, Elijah went to show himself to the king Ahab. Ahab had sought for Elijah in every nation on earth, but he had not found him. Their people and animals were starving to death. So Ahab blamed Elijah for this problem and sought to find him but could not.

A Godly man by the name of Obadiah was the governor of Ahab’s house. This man greatly feared the LORD. He and the King had set out to seek for Elijah. They went different directions. Then Elijah met Obadiah and told him to go tell the king that Elijah is here.

1ki 18:10 As the LORD thy God liveth, there is no nation or kingdom, whither my lord hath not sent to seek thee: and when they said, He is not there; he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they found thee not. 18:11 And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here. 18:12 And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the spirit of the LORD shall carry thee whither I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall slay me: but I thy servant fear the LORD from my youth.

Ahab accused Elijah of being the one who had troubled Israel; but Elijah told him that it was he and his evil family, which was to blame. Then he told the king to gather all Israel and the prophets of Baal unto mount Carmel. Then he asked Israel why they halt between two opinions. He set out to prove which is the true God, Baal or God.

He made the Baal prophets kill a bullock and dress him and place him on an altar but put no fire under. The God who answers by Fire let him be God. So he told them to call on Baal and try and get him to send down the fire and consume the sacrifice. So they called on Baal all morning; but had no answer. They finally cut themselves with knives trying to get Baal to answer them.

Then Elijah fixed his sacrifice and poured twelve barrels of water on the sacrifice. Then he called on the Lord and God sent down the fire and burned up the sacrifice and licked up all the water. Then the people saw that The LORD, he is the God. Then Elijah slew all those Baal prophets with the sword. Now see that this ‘spirit?of Elijah brought judgment to those Baal prophets? He also was working with the spirit of Fire. He destroyed all those evil Baal prophets.

Now see that these witnesses of God will be prophesying the same amount of time that it is said they feed the woman who brought forth the manchild? See that they have the spirit of ‘fire?coming out of their mouths to devour their enemies? If any man will hurt them he must in this manner be killed? The very same thing Elijah did over there. So then anyone who comes in that same spirit and power will be doing this same thing of destroying the evil workers of Satan.

So then who in Scripture is said to do this thing? For the answer go to Psm. 149: 5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. 149:6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; 149:7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; 149:8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; 149:9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.

So then it is all his saints. They are the second witnesses who will be anointed with POWER from on high by the Baptism of FIRE. This FIRE is that power of the word of judgment coming out their mouths to destroy the wicked and bring the wrath of the Lamb on the world. So this shows that the one who comes in the spirit and power of Elijah at the end of time will be a whole group of saints; not just one person. They will be ‘one?in unity, but not in number.

The first Apostolic church, under Peter and Paul was the first witness. They were anointed with POWER from on high with the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. But Jesus had told THEM they did not have the spirit of fire, to do as Elijah had done = destroy men’s lives! But the second witness WILL have that spirit to destroy men’s lives and bring judgment. They are the one in Rev. 11. See that they can control the rain as Elijah had done? They will shut up heaven in the days of their prophecy that it rain not. The people will not be receiving the outpouring of God’s Spirit and word. This is the rain, which they will have shut off. Grace for the sinners will be over = the silence in Heaven.

Now after Elijah had killed the Baal prophets he told Ahab to eat and drink for there is a sound of abundance of rain. See the witnesses will bring back the power of God to earth again. Elijah did not fear the king. He stood in his face and cut off the rain. These witness of God with that same spirit, will fear no one. They will be bold as LIONS. They are not afraid to stand up to anyone in the spiritual battle, which is going on right now. These people have the true Word and will stand and fight God’s enemies with the Word and power.

Notice, Elijah told his servant to go look toward the sea. He went and looked and said, There is NOTHING. And he said, Go again SEVEN times. THEN at the seventh time he saw a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. He sent Ahab word to get down that the rain stop thee not. And it came to pass that the heaven was black with clouds and wind and a great rain. See this is the judgment = black, clouds, and wind.

But notice that this did not occur during that seven church ages. It occurred at the seventh one. See, he said there is nothing until the seventh time. So the churches did not have this power. They had nothing of this rain. So this cannot be the so-called five-fold ministry of the churches of today as most people claim. This is something, which occurs after those churches have all run their course. This is the power of that second witness to bring the written judgments on this earth. They have power to shut heaven that it rain not or they can call for the rain. They have fire coming out of their mouths to devour their enemies. This is God’s second anointed witness, the ones who receive the Baptism of Fire for judgment. The Word of God is in their mouths.

See that Mal. 4: 3 said these people will tread down the wicked under their feet. So this is that Elijah ministry.

Thank you, Isaiah, for posting this great message here for us.  I have thouroghly enjoyed reading this again.  So much, we need to keep refreshed in this Word.  It is so easy to forget what we have read or even written.

It is the foundation of the 'house' (our spiritual lives), which will determine if that house stands of falls when these 'storms' of judgment strike.

Jesus said if the house is built upon a Rock,  which is the truth of His Word,  then it will stand.
But if the foundation is set in sand,  = flesh or false doctrine, then that house will fall and great will be the fall of it.

that is why we stress so much here,  to Build on the True Foundation.   Nothing else will make you stand in the storms.

Church teachings will be sand and cause your house to collasp and fall.
