HM The Queen to Unveil Memorial to Women of WW2

Construction of the Womens War Memorial

Her Majesty The Queen will unveil a Memorial dedicated to Women of World War 2 on the 9th July 2005. 

This new monument will pay tribute to those in the services, including the brave women sent behind German lines as part of the undercover Special Operations Executive, as well as those on the home front.

The memorial is under construction at present, thanks to much co-ordination with Westminster Council.  The unveiling will take place in Whitehall on the 9th July.
