Remembering the horror of July 7th, 2005.

Friend - I cannot reach and touch you.
I cannot ask you to lay your head on my shoulder
in your sorrow.
But I can assure you that I share your sorrow.

TEARS AND SMILES IN HEAVEN.

On July 7th, 2005,
the world experienced yet another tragedy.

An atrocity committed in the name of religion.
This was not religion my friends. This was evil.
Evil committed using God as an excuse.
Killing innocent people for no good reason.

And there were tears in Heaven.

But then we saw the real face of God.

We saw Him in the Londoners
who behaved with such dignity,
their courage so reminiscent of the Londoners
who survived the Blitz.

We saw Him in the Londoners
who quietly walked home
through the miles of the city;
and in the faces of the Rescue Services:
Police; Fire; Medical Personnel;
Ambulance Teams and Transport Personnel.

The bombers struck at what they believed to be
the heart of London -
the Tube and the red bus.

They failed to realise that the heart of London
lies in her people.

Today, just three days after the attack,
our Queen, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II
and her family, led War heroes, marching bands,
and hundreds upon hundreds, of brave citizens
through the streets of London.

The heart of London
lies in such courage and dignity,
and strength to carry on.

And because of London's heart
London's flags will fly again, and

There will be smiles in Heaven.

God bless you all.
