British troops from 4th Battalion The Rifles (4 Rifles), who regularly patrol in and around Basra, have been helping to make life better for children living at a local orphanage.

19 Jul 07	It is with profound sadness that the Ministry of Defence must confirm the deaths of Senior Aircraftsman Matthew Caulwell, Senior Aircraftsman Christopher Dunsmore and Senior Aircraftsman Peter McFerran in southern Iraq on Thursday 19 July 2007. 139 members of the Armed Forces have received honours and awards for their bravery and service on operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and around the World. Defence Secretary Des Browne announced the next roulement of UK forces to deploy to Iraq, scheduled to take place in November/December 2007. New Armed Forces Minister Bob Ainsworth paid his first visit to Iraq.
