21 Feb 07 In a statement to the House of Commons Prime Minister Tony Blair announced a reduction in the number of UK Forces in Iraq from 7,100 to approximately 5,500. This is a reduction of nearly 1,600 UK troops.

15 Feb 07 A major security crackdown was launched by Iraqi Security Forces, assisted by coalition troops, in Basra. This is part of a nationwide effort by the Iraqi Government.

The largest, most successful security operation in Basra City since 2003, Operation TROY saw several different agencies from the Iraqi Security Forces work and plan together.
