It is one thing to say, "I believe this is the right action." It is quite another todo the right thing when people oppose us and when doing right seems impossible.
We need to pass on to our children and grandchildren and remind ourselves that if we have deep convictions-----convictions that have not just been handed to us, but that have been seared into our souls through difficult battles won----those convictions will be tested. They will be tried in the fires of outside pressures. I am not certain that a conviction is a worthwhile one if itis not tested and tried in the refining fires of life experiences and human opposition.
