We lost our oldest daughter to Aids May 18th 2001. She was 28. Her name was Shelly. When she was younger she was raped by a guy who had Aids and knew it. We didn't know about the rape or that she was sick for years. Then the world came down which was hell. But hope was there cause they had ways and meds to help. She fought for her life for 14 yrs, She began to feel better about herself after finding out how she could live and be pround of herself even though she had Aids. She learned that at a program at our doctors called HIV University. She was even in a trainning film she thought that was so cool. And we every year for the graduation class give a giant tessy bear in our daughter name. Just to liet the women know we love and support them in everyway and pround they kept with the program. We have 2 other children a son and daughter and now have grandkids so we have been broughten back to life alot. But also see what she has missed Shelly loved kids and I know she would have loved them. Richard |
