Dear Mary...I know exactly what you mean. Losing a child is the hardest thing anyone will ever have to go through. Sometimes we wonder if it's even worthwhile getting up in the morning, because it feels like there is nothing there for us. However, there's other family members such as children, husband, parents, relatives who are concerned about your well-being, and they are the ones who motivate you into getting up, getting dressed, and getting out. It will be 4 years in October that we lost Andy and I still have days where I feel like I don't want to get up, or I'll burst into tears when I think of what he'd be doing today if he were here, and I'm sure there are other members here that feel the same way about the child/children they've lost. This is why we understand and this is why we care so much. As Rean has said, it does get better as time goes on. You will never forget Michael, and you will have bouts of saddeness where tears will still be shed, but you will move on because that's what Michael would want you to do. NEVER FEEL LIKE YOU'RE ALONE! It's a long, rough road to travel and it's always good to have friends walk with you from time-to-time. Hugs....Shannon |
