My Mom (who will be 73 in Aug.) has had yearly colonoscopies and they usually find one or two polyps & are removed. All have been benign.
Recently tho, they found a cluster of them & says her intestinal wall is too thin to remove them all so she needed 6" removed...she got a 2nd opinion & I had prayed they would find them GONE....
I can only assume the Lord has other plans because they saw them & the cluster has grown so that they will be removing more than 6" now....they do not know but "suspect" them to be cancerous.
The biggest problem tho is my Mom was diagnosed with emphazema a couple of years ago & has been on oxygen. This concerns them about her having surgery. Today (May 5th) Mom is going in for a pre-op physical - and then have the surgery this Wednesday.
Please pray for :
a safe surgery,
all the "bad stuff" taken out,
it NOT being malignant
& a VERY quick recovery!!
Thank you,
God bless you,
Your sissy,
Marlene

Sissy I am praying..we have power when we bow before Him.
We become :

Dear Heavenly Father we know nothing is too hard for you. You who can make the deaf hear, the blind to see and the lame to walk..can certainly be with Sissy's mother .We ask you to heal her of the emphezema..and be with her during this surgery. We ask that you will guide the doctors..during the operation and that they will remove everything that is not supposed to be there. We also pray that no cancer will be found in her body nor the removed growths. Father we do not ask in any other name than the name of Jesus..your precious Son..who bore the stripes on his back for our healing. We thank you in advance for working an moving in her life and the lives of her family.

My Mom's surgery is tomorrow (Wed.) at 10AM.
Also, please lift up my sissy/friend LouAnn & her Dad: he is having the exact same surgery tomorrow (Wed.) at 10:15 AM with the difference that his Drs. say he needs a triple or quadruple (can't remember which) by pass first!! However, because his was diagnosed with cancer (and cancer waits for no one) they want to get THAT out first....so My Mom & Her Dad will be having the exact same surgery at 10 & 10:15...hmmm...HERs & my time zones ARE different so my Mom's will be at 10:AM CST & her Dad's at 10:15 EST (11:15 my time) (I sure hope I didn't confuse you!!)
Please be in prayer for the parents as well as us daughters -so we will NOT fall into our emotions in this but instead will radiate our FAITH in God's ability to heal, restore & make whole. amen!!
God continue to bless & keep you my wonderful praying friends & brethren.
In Jesus,
Your sissy,
Marlene

OK: you are not gunna believe THIS (or maybe you will!)
According to Sissy LouAnn, her Dad's time has been changed so that exactly at the hour my Mom goes in, her Dad goes in!!
So PLEASE be IN prayer for them both at 10AM CST!!
Thank you all so much. I cannot explain to you the peace I have knowing that you all have us covered with your prayers!!
THANK YOU!
Giant sissy hugs,
Your sissys,
Marlene & LouAnn

Greetings in Jesus' precious Name...
I haven't posted due to so many "things" going on...before I could post, something else would happen!! For one thing, the hospital is an hours drive away....just when MY vehicle can't be driven (the brakes) and hubby is still working....so trying to get there has been a real act of faith....but God has been blessing me....so that I am there when I'm supposed to be....I have been just in & out of groups lately tho....
she came thru alright but they are having prob. with her anesthetic...it doesn't seem to want to "wear off" so that she is only SLOWLY coming out of it. My niece, 21, whom my Mom basically raised (who gets on my nerves tremendously due to her arrogance, pride, rebellion & total lack of respect for any body & any thing) brought her live in boyfriend with her, even tho my Mom won't even allow her own brothers to visit while she is unconscious or very groggy....after having gone thru, oh, I'd say 20 surgeries with her, over the years....(she shattered her ankle and had about 9 surgeries done on it, years ago, and other surgeries)....I know that the boyfriend is a BIG "No no" yet could not get those two to calm down (my Mom was soooo out of it that she never would have known they were there....but since they were trying to "wake her up" by lowering her meds....That could have happened: her waking up to a man there!)....they were acting like they were at a party: laughing at my Mom's mumblings in her sleep and being loud & obnoxious...I would ask the nurse a question and BOYFRIEND would answer so loud about what all HIS Dad went thru that I had not a clue what the NURSE said...things like that...yet I couldn't exactly COMMAND then to leave since they were the ones who gave me the ride there!!! It was a very trying evening...and I did talk to them about all of it later, trying to explain how VULNERABLE my Mom feels in those hospital gowns and with tubes n stuff up her nose, just wants us "girls" there....but she still didn't get it and they are totally POed at me (excuse the French!!!).
Last night was great tho....Mike drove me (so I wouldn't be "alone" with them in case the niece & her boyfriend were there again).....Mom was more coherent...she still should be more awake...and I suspect today will be GREAT for her *smile*. This will be SUCH a relief because she will be able to tell them herself if she wants them to leave...or for all I know, feel entertained you know? tee hee...but from past experience with her, I doubt that happens....sheesh...my Mom IS afraid of offending niece tho (she offends easily) so I have no idea how she will deal with their antics once she is awake.
I have never had to deal with any issues like my niece & her boyfriend!! Everyone else in the family, over the years, has  shown total respect for her wishes and would call up at the hospital FIRST to see if she even WANTED visitors!! It was always just my Mom & I for those first few days....so this was REALLY frustrating for me. (and YES! I forgive them and YES! I walked in total love...it was just frustrating to try & get it thru to them that ALL of this was about my MOM & not them!!)
so, all is well & Jesus always & forever IS LORD! Amen!!
Giant sissy hugs,
Your sissy,
Marlene

Sissy Marlene..I am sorry you had such a difficult time (with relatives)when your mother was going through her surgery. I wish family would..could get along. But there is many times long standing jealousies in families..and especially when one serves the Lord. This is really not unusual..Jesus even said that our biggest enemies would (could) be those of our own household. I have went through some of that myself in years gone passed. Not with my mother of course..but with other family members. About all we can do is stay close to Jesus and receive His Strength and Love to share with the family when we have the opportunity...many times even that is not received...but stay sweet and gentle anyway...you just never know how your actions or reactions will witness to them. They never forget any of it. Believe me!
You and your family are in my prayers...

We love and appreciate you so very much here at Christ followers.
I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day with your family!

Much  Love, Aalie

MY MOM IS FINALLY AWAKE, alert & coherent!!
She is responding, talking, small-stepping it & this morning had some solid food (yesterday was liquids).
Thank you all so much for your prayers....she IS on the mend & God is taking care of EVERYTHING, including all the family drama *grin*
No matter WHAT the devil (or my flesh!) tries to throw at me, Jesus is still my Lord & I have my peace, joy, love, patience & gentleness all back in their proper places *smile* and I intend to keep them there!!!
Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers for me over these past days....I sure do appreciate YOU!!
Giant sissy hugs,
Your sissy,
Marlene

Thank you soooooooooo much!! I sure do appreciate you!
I just realized that I did not include the most excellent report about my sissy/friend's dad!! He had his surgery at the exact same hour as my Mom....and he came out with flying colors, was awake & alert the day after, started enjoying liquids and took a VERY short walk & now is eating solids & walking around the nurse's station (our sissy reported this all to me with pure joy & thankfulness!!)
The report is "they got it all" & he won't even need chemo or ANYTHING else!! NOW we're praying & believing God for his heart to be wholly restored!! Our sissy asked me to please convey her good report and thank all of you who were praying....she SO appreciated all of your prayer support!!
Giant sissy hugs,
Your sissy,
Marlene
