>> Pray for Ashley- April's daughter <<
Hello Friends,
Wanted to e-mail and give you an update on Ashley. We have had so many
e-mails, phone calls, and visits from our wonderful friends. We feel so
blessed to have such wonderful brothers and sisters praying for Ashley. The
cards, gifts, and e-mails of encouragement and prayers have really
brightened Ashley week here at home.
She is now talking again and with very little trouble! She has some troubles
with some words, but that will come back with time.
Her stitches seem to be healing up well, as far as I can tell. Her mouth is
still sore off and on and mostly after she talks for awhile So we've tried
to get her to slow down and only say what she needs too , when she needs too
But she is her mothers daughter after all... So she loves to talk!
We go to the doctor again Wednesday so I am sure he will be able to tell us
how well things are healing, stitches wise anyway's.
Ashley plans to return back to school on Tuesday..but we will see how things
go this weekend.
Ashley is enjoying her meal replacement shakes and likes the taste a lot !
So praise God for that !! She is also eating some jello, ice cream, soup
and even had some creamed potatoes and she seemed to enjoy that very much!
She still can't chew--but she is making the most of it ! We bought her some
baby food fruits and she is enjoying those as well. She said she misses her
fruits and vegetables a lot !
Our church has been so wonderful and supportive. All of Ashley's friends
have been calling, texting her, and even bought her a sweet little doll and
overwhelmed her with cards and hugs! She has some real wonderful friends and
leaders at church and we are so grateful to God for the people He has placed
in our lives.
Ashley has already seen the value in this accident and what she can learn
from it. She spent several hours in the Word and has pages full of Scripture
on Obedience and Peer Pressure. She plans on writing a sermon and some
devotionals on what God has taught her through this experience. She has been
such a trooper and we see God's hands all over this!! Yes, He allowed Ashley
to fall, but she is back up and stronger in her walk with Christ then ever!
It reminds me of Job -- God allowed Satan to take things away from Job, to
give him illness, even death's all around him, but he remained faithful to
God through it all. Ashley is not Job--but her faith and character in this
trial has been so Job like and I know she will be using this to praise God !
Thank you again for the prayers and all your love for Ashley and for us as a
family.
God bless you all my friends.
We will keep you posted as Ashley heals.
Love April
