Hello all,

I apologize for not commenting or posting anything lately. As a teenager, I am a very busy person. This past week I have been at Church Camp with my church. This last week was so amazing. God worked in so many powerful ways. I think from what I can remember that 61 people got saved and 68 people were baptized in the Holy Spirit. We can all thank God Almighty for that. I just thought that whenever I can that I would post some notes that I had taken from the sermons that were spoken. The guest speaker this week at camp was Shawn Hennessey. He is an amazing man of God. God had literally taken him from the prison to the pulpit, and he has such a great testimony and God is using him greatly. One of the sermons that he had preached on he called "Secrets of the Spirit" So here are just some notes that I took. By the way- If you dont understand all of what I am saying just ask. But its also hard to explain all he was saying because for some of it you just needed to be there. So I hope you enjoy.

"Secrets of the Spirit"

Acts 1:5 "For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."

The night before this sermon part of sermon he had said that there were some people that may have things that are at home or that they brought with camp to them that they shoulndt have..and that if there is that during the day tomorrow they should come in and lay that item down at the altar or if you don't have it with you write that thing down on a piece of paper and lay it at the altar. So he looked at those and saw that the number one things that teens were dealing with that were hindering them with their relationship with God and hindering them from telling and witnessing to people about God was fear. And he said that "God wants to take our fear and use it as the foundation for our future."

Then he started about certain typed of fires and how to make them.

A. Basics to creating a fire
      1. Fuel
      2. Oxygen
      3. Spark
B. Types of Fires
      1. Ignition - A fire in its most critical state of all. This fire needs to be stoked up when beginning and it needs to be nutured. *spiritually what I got is that when you are going to the spark of a fire, and you are just starting you need to be ready and on fire yourself and have a passion and you need to keep feeding yourself God, and read the Bible, pray to God and study and just hunger for more and more of Him*

      2. Backdraft - When all of the oxygen of a fire gets sucked out of the environment, and it disappears. But it is not extinguished, it hasn't gone completely out. Because once oxygen hits again, it appears with an explosion and consumes everything in its path. * spiritually what I got from this is that when we are on fire and its going good and then something and we fall and we kind of stay away from Christ for awhile and then right when we get out of that hard time or situation and we rely on Christ and make him our foundation, its like when that oxygen hits that non-extinguished fire, we explode because God has helped us out of that situation and we are much stronger and we consume everthing in our path. We become an influence for everyone. We just totally let God use us.*

      3. Flashover - This fire is a freak of nature. This fire is almost impossible to create. This flame does not grow and it does not jump. But this flame and fire will raise up the temperature more and more. Then after awhile things around this flame/fire they start to spontaneously combusting. And they catch on fire to. *Spiritually what I got from this is that this flame/fire would be a christian who is soooo on fire for God that their lives and attitude and everything is just a testimony and that the people that they are around catches what they have and begin to seek after it and then they ask and get answers and become curious and then they become saved and they then start becoming on fire too...and its like they just start combusting..and its a contagious fire.*

Acts 1:4 "On one occasion, while he was eaing with them, he gave them this command, " Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have hears me speak about."

The baptisim in the Holy Spirit is a gift and it is able to be received by everyone

Acts 1:5 "For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."

Acts 1:8 " But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit come on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria , and to the ends of the earth."

Acts 2:6 " When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking in his own language."

Acts 2:14-41 " 14Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: "Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. 15These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It's only nine in the morning! 16No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17" 'In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
      and they will prophesy.
19I will show wonders in the heaven above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20The sun will be turned to darkness
      and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
    21And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.'[a]

22"Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men,[b] put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. 25David said about him:
" 'I saw the Lord always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
      I will not be shaken.
    26Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will live in hope,
27because you will not abandon me to the grave,
nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
    28You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence.'[c]

29"Brothers, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. 30But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. 31Seeing what was ahead, he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ,[d] that he was not abandoned to the grave, nor did his body see decay. 32God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact. 33Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. 34For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said,
" 'The Lord said to my Lord:
      "Sit at my right hand
    35until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet." '[e]

36"Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."

37When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"

38Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call."

40With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." 41Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Acts 2:47 "praising God and enjoying all the favor of the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Shawn then began talking about the crowd that had gatherd and they said a GREAT growd which was 5,000 men not counting women and children. And about when Peter and John were put into prison and he was talking about the great crowd that followed them and they had reached.

Acts 4:18-20 "Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, "Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to obey you rather than God. For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard."

Shawn said, " They couldn't help but speak about God. WE NEED TO DEVELOP A CASE OF THE I CAN'T HELP IT!!!!!" We need to be so on fire fot God and ready to speak and stand up for Him that when we are asked to stop speaking about Him or bringin him and etc. that we need to say I can't help but speak about Him. Earlier that week shawn had said we need to stop apologizing for what we believe in..enough is enough"

He than began to speak about receiving the baptismal in the Holy Spirit and how people now days are kind of messing up the blueprint. Or well they are trying to tell you to do the things the way they did when they received it. But not everyone receives the gift the same way. He said here are the blueprints of how to receive it:

A. Blueprints of how to receive the baptismal of the Holy Spirit

      1. Acts 2:4

4All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.

      2. Acts 10:44

44While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message.

      3. Acts 19:1-6 - " While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked them, "Did you recieve the Holy Spirit when you believed?" They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." So Paul asked, "Then what baptism did you receive?" "John's baptism," they replied. Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentence. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus. On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them, and they spoke in tounges and prophesied."

      4. Acts 8:15 - "When they arrived they prayed for them that they may receive the Holy Spirit."

B. How to receive the baptismal in the Holy Spirit

      1. Be saved and surrender your all to Jesus Christ.

      2. Hunger for more

      3. By faith, SPEAK

Then here are some points that he had said:

A. We need to believe that the Holy Spirit is for us and confess it.

B. We want the Holy Spirit because we want to have the power. That power that the devil can't stop us.

C. Dont pray in the flesh, pray in the Spirit. Start uncontiously speaking Gods will cause God will speak through you.

I hope you all enjoy this..these are just the notes I took and some things that I got from it. I hope you did enjoy this and get something out of. please leave comments about it and what you think. Pleaes be honest. If somethign doesnt sound right let me know..and let me explain or rephrase. Thanks. God Bless

In His Name,

Alicia

Alot has been on my heart lately since camp. Alot having to do with Christians having to stop delaying things. Or Christians stop being ashamed of their God and what they believe and standing up. First off I must say that if anyone is to be ashamed..it should be God of us. And second of all when we become Christians..we don't only give our lifes to God but we surrender our lives to Him, and then when we do that, it means that we surrender our life into HIS hands and we live our lives for Him. Yes we are human and yes we do make mistakes...that is why we should thanks God everyday that we have such a merciful God. Anyways, have anyone noticed how like the athiests are standing up and taking out the little bit of Christianity that there is in school?? What are the Christians doing about it? Doesn't it seem wrong on how the kids can be taught about, evolution, and agnostisim, budhismm, and etc. But they cant be taught about Christianity. Sorry but some Christians needs to stand up and bring it up and teach it..I know that if I was in a public school and I was a Christian, I would be preaching and holding Bible studies. Even if that meant I got exspelled. I would rather be expelled than have teachers say, "You either stop preaching about God or your gonna get expelled." and then me say, "Ok I will stop." I need to say, " I am sorry I cannot help it, and you can do whatever you want, but nothing is gonna stop me from preaching about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." That's a testimony in itself to people.

I mean when are Christians gonna stand up and say, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!" I am not going to tolerate people putting down what I believe, and I am not going to apologize for what I believe. I am not going to stall what I need to be doing, if I know I need to do it and its God's will and calling, then so help me I am gonna do it!! I know that God will keep His protection upon me. We all need to have faith in God and just do what He tells us to do. Think about the difference Christians could make if they actually had FAITH!!! I mean thta would be awesome.

Alot of my heart is going towards teens. Because alot now days you are hearing that we are the generation to change everything. So for me I want to the spark of the fire that starts the FIRE...and then we could have a bunch of on fire for God teens wanting to change the generation and the world and the generations to come. I mean teenagers have such a big say now in lots of things and I think that if Christian teens stepped up to what they have committed their lives too...dang this world would be so different. I know that I am going to a Christians Highschool next year, and its gonna be hard being a Christian there..but nothing is gonna stop me. I am planning on going in there and still being a testimony and challenging people. I am actually going to talk to the principal and etc. about starting a worship service..and a chapel and me leading it. They dont have a chapel..which I think is absolutely horrible because worship is absolutely important...ecspecially for me. But anyways alot has been on my heart about NOW..not later Now is the time for Christians to stand up and have faith and fight for what they believe and to stop being ashamed and live the live you have commited to Christ. Cause if you look at it...its not your life its Gods.

Hope you enjoy.

God Bless,

Alicia
