I am going to try to journal again. I have been low all day. The lowest was 34. My high for today was 71. I don't know what the problem is. Maybe it is because I had tuna with a small slice of homemade bread for lunch and didn't eat again until dinner time. For dinner I had beans and hot dogs. We are getting to the bottom of the barrel food wise.

My nerves have been on edge all day. I have the feeling that I have forgotten something but don't know what. Oh well more tomorrow. It's time for bed. night all!

Hi Voni,
Any chance you forgot your steroids? Or are you now reducing the dose thus you don't need as much insulin?
Hope things are better for you today

That is very low and you must be able to handle it as we are all individuals but generally you would be in danger of passing out with 34.   I have never heard of it being that low without an incident occuring.

Don't you feel shaky and disorientated at that low?  I sure hope you get to feeling better.  That would really scare me.

I am sure they have told you to keep perhaps some hard candies or what I keep is a small tube of that decorating type icing around and in my purse in case I get the shakes.

God Bless

Cuddles

Do you know that after you drank the OJ you should have eaten a small amount of protein and perhaps a half slice of toast or 2 or 3 crackers to keep you bg from spiking then plummeting again?   The addition of a little protein and a little longer acting carb will level it all out and make you feel better.  Not to tell anyone what to do.

Yes SarahQ, the dose on the solumedrol was reducing down and I am actually done with that med. I had my hearing test done this morning and the ENT said everything was alright.

As for my lows, I was feeling alright. Just a little bit of shakiness when i tried to stand up but that was all. And I bounce back and forth.

I got busy yesterday and didn't post. I was delivering hay until way late. My bg's during the delivery ran 120 to 135 but right before bed is when I have the worst problem. I jump all the way to HI. Too friendly of a meter if you ask me.

Today was a day full of grocery shopping and other errands and again I was down in the 40's I stopped for breakfast. I had very little to chose from. So I had a donut and felt a little better. I have been feeling off today cause of the cramps I had last night. I had severe cramping on the tops of my feet. And I tell ya, I would have rather had a baby! The pain was horrid! And to top it off, when I got up this morning, I had no voice! I haven't been able to speak above a low whisper all day.

Now I am just really very tired. Time for bed.
