I came across this interesting website today:  http://www.librarything.com/suggest.php

If you put in the title of a book you loved, it will tell you what other books are owned by the people who own your title, and which books have similar tags or similar subject headings.  I tried a few of my favorite books and I think it works well to give you a list of books with the same flavor.

They have thousands of members who use the site to catalog their own books, so it works pretty well.

Let me know what you think of this!

This is going to help my book club pick new books.

Julie

Tabby,
They have 9 million books in their catalog, so they must!  Try putting in the title of one of the books in the series, rather than the name of the series.  That should bring it up.  I printed out the pages for 4 of the books my book club liked and am going to bring the pages to show them at our next meeting.  There are 3 librarians in this group, so we always have different ideas for how to pick books.

hi Julie    I put in Voyager and it does indeed work     got the names of some books  titles  that sound good      also found an old favorite    Dorothy Dunnett   if I remember correctly she wrote a series of adventure books set in medieval times that were very well written and had chess pieces in the title    now will have to check on those because I don't remember finishing the series   thank you   will use this
