Hi Rebecca,
I have addison's disease. It does take a long time for a endo/gp to get round to the idea of thinking along the lones of addison's.
I had the magic illness called it's your diabetes control it . It took my nr death before my Dr actualy woke up to the fact I was very ill.
http://addisons-diabetes.gkznet.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=1  this site is very good go have a read.

Also here are a list of all the test you need done,

Doing just a cortisol test is a complete waste of time the gold standard test is the  ACTH stimulation test:
I do hope you find answers soon once I started steroid replacement it was like a corpse awakening.
I've been diabetic for 43 yrs. Have the bad shoulders but these were due directly to an accident as to whether they ended up so bad due to my diabetes I do not know.
You really do need an endo though to sort you out.
Give a shout if you want any more info. My email is in my profile.

Please could you use a larger font so our partialy sighted members can see it ta very much.

Sue (SarahQ)
