My husband is type 2. He has been januvia for a while now. Lately his fasting numbers are now in the lowers 200s and he is not eating like more then 2 carb servings before bed. Are there any other medication other then insulin they can put him on for these kinds of numbers? He has been excersing more now since the weather is nicer too. Thanks! |

There are many medications for T2 diabetes. But the autority has to be his doctor. Arm yourself with some research on line before you go. It is always a good idea to be an informed consumer, when ti comes to health care. But his doctor has to monitor and decide what will work best, given a full picture of his current health profile. No one here can know what medical conditions your husband may be dealing with, what his other labs look like, eat. But if you put "medications for T2 diabetes" into a search engine, you will see just how many kinds there are. Good luck! HUGS! sheryl |

June I agree with Sheryl. You might ask your Dr if he/she thinks it would be a good idea for your husband to be on pills as well as insulin. I take medformin in the evenings , there are others that medformin causes stomach problems so it doesn't work for some, there is also Altace which causes water retention for some and others it doesn't. There are many others. Byetta works for many it comes as an injection but it is not insulin,,it's been known to help you lose weight as well. Talk to your Dr. Maryb |
