Friday  night I checked close before bedtime.  290  very  high for me but since I have been on the pred  nisone I have become used to this.
Early Saturday morning (about 5am) checked again and it was 298.. surprised me since it usually goes closer to 100 overnight.
Checked again about two  hours later and it was 45..  so I rechecked w ith a different meter and a different brand of strips.  this time it was 54.
I am concerned about the wide swings especially the unexpected very low readings.
Any suggestions ?

Prednisone is a steroid and will affect your BG readings.  Ask your doctor if there is a different med fo your alergy or reduce the dose.  If you are using an oral med for diabetes, the dose may have to be increased and the same is true for insulin.
