Went to endo today and I have lost 10 lbs since last visit and it is all about the Effexor I stopped taking. I told her how much better I felt with the Effexor, but also told her I loved the weight loss. Pants are lose, but not enough to go back to my previous size. She gave me a herb to try to see if that will help with my anxiety. I will post later when I find it on the internet. A1C was 6.9 up from my previous 6.3. I also talked her into a regular urinalysis since I have not done the 24 hour test for the last year and have the jugs in my car all summer. Karen |

Hi Karen, I was out there researching all kinds of herbs to consider taking to help things out. I looked at 5thp too. It's supposed to be a percursor to serotonin and therefore a more natural way to relieve depression. But I'm not sure if it helps with anxiety and that's what's hitting me the most right now. Good luck with it and the 10lb weight loss. Pam |

Pam, Just an FYI, anxiety and depression go hand in hand. Still not sure what drug I will try. I posted this info on another site and this guy tried it and he stated it worked well, except for some very crazy dreams. He said the best thing that worked for him was a big joint after work. He lives in CA and pot is legal, too funny!! Karen |

Congrats on the weight loss ! I have seriously been considering going on something .My stress level is high right now and anxiety has always been a big issue with me even before the diabetes. I know that the things going on in my life right now are the major cause and I keep thinking things will get better and put off talking to the dr about it . Tracy |

Karen, Congratulations on the weight loss!!!! I know you have been working long and hard at it and it does not happen easily. It is amazing to me how many of us on this board are having issues with anxiety. Please let us know if you try the 5htp and how it works for you. alisa |

Wooooo Hooooo Karen! Great weight loss! I wouldn't be too worried about 6.9 A1c, fall and winter seem like high A1c months for most of us every year! I have done so many of those 24 hour urines! I absolutely hate doing them! Itsme Wayne |
