It is time to make a decision on which board we want to move to permanently. Message boards at Aimoo and Yuku have been available now for over a month for everyone to try out.

This morning I reviewed the list of alternative sites for message boards that was provided at Community Feedback (and posted here by Kool). Many of them did not have photo albums and/or chats. Some looked like possible choices, but you had to sign up before you could check out any boards already set up. In my opinion, I feel the two boards we’ve set up are good choices.

This is your opportunity to vote for which message board you like. Please post your choice.

If you haven’t checked them out yet, these are your choices:

Aimoo Diabetes Living (http://diabetesliving.aimoo.com/) - Created by ItsmeWayne

Yuku Diabetes Living (http://diabetesliving.yuku.com/) - Created by SuzannaOR

One week from today (Dec. 10) I will tally the vote and post the results. So you have a week to check the sites out and make up your mind.

Thanks!

Suzanna

Another vote for Yuko.  I really like the mouse over message read feature.

I would also have the current DL MSN board migrated over to Aimoo for archival purposes since Aimoo has a MSN to Aimoo migration tool.

I vote for Yuku since the management of the site seems to be easier.

I like both sites. So, whatever we decide, I'm still going to be part of the Diabetes Living Community.

Either one is fine with me as long as DC and DL end up together.

Ditto what Karend said!

I've been to both, and posted on both, but other than that, I haven't used any special features, so I can't really say which one works best.  I trust your judgement, Suz, as well as Wayne's judgement, in terms of how these things work and how they are managed.

And I also really would like to see DL & DC together again...it's been so long, and both boards have so many members who don't know each other, it'll be fun getting to know all the new people (and hopefully for them getting to know us), plus having some old friends back on our same board would be terrific.

I can't really vote, as I have not been able to sign up on either site. The Aimoo one would not take my member sign-up even though it acted like it did. The Yuku site wants to know my birthday. I don't give that out for identity-theft reasons, so if I go back to yuku, I can tell you right now that I will enter a fake date.

Where's the edit button!!? LOL

Ro, I put a fake birthday at Aimoo ... didn't figure it was anyone's business.  LOL  At Yuku you have a "viewing permisson" option where I selected "No one."    However, for security purposes, putting a fake birthday is a good idea, in my opinion. Go for it!

I vote for YUKU.  Both give me troubles but Aimoo gives me more trouble to find things.

Lol Ro...I put in a fake birthyear, so I believe Yuku thinks I'm about 104!

Hey members,
28 Votes seems to be a disappointing number, considdering the 100s of members between the two sites!
Is it that nobody cares? or has no time for this important move?
I don't get it!
Itsme Wayne ... may just go find a more active home!
ps. I am sorry if this offends anyone. It is very sad though!

I don't think anyone would be defended by your comment.  You know, Wayne, there are over 1,000 members between the two boards ... the voting turnout was  disappointing.  I see no purpose in transferring these people to another board, when they don't participate.  I think we need to start fresh ... and people can join when they want to.  I just hope they participate.  I'm working on moving over the important links that are still working.  I already have posted a link to the Diabetes Perspectives our members wrote.  They are in the "Useful Links" section.
