Here are the results of the vote for either Yuku Diabetes Living or Aimoo Diabetes Living:

Aimoo:  8

Yuku:   20

It looks like Yuku is our new board.  Remember this is your board.  It is up to all of us to make the board successful and helpful to others.  We need good input from everyone to make it a board we can be proud of.  As we go along, we can make changes and make it better. Thank you for voting.

Suzanna

Suz...

Do we have an "official" date for the total changeover?  A date after which we will no longer be posting here at MSN?

That's a good question, Ruth.  According to Community Feedback, MSN closes down on February 21, 2009.  So we have time to get acquainted with the new board and move useful links over, etc.

Personally, I'm ready to move over there now.  Too many boards to check daily.

Suz-

I plan on reading and posting here until MSN officially closes.  You aleady have Yuku up and running and I don't know what else is involved (here on this board) with moving other then letting everyone know what was decided (which was already done). I guess I just want to be sure you weren't thinking of closing this board until the MSN date.  Even if most people are going to post on the new board only ..I will be checking this board  until it closes so you don't have to worry about this one if it is too much to do both.

Anyhow, I guess I am feeling sentimental now that this board is coming to an end.  I do want to stay until the bitter end (even if I am the only one..lol).  I will be reading along on the new board also .  I am also hoping that some members that haven't been around for a while will pop back and see what is going on and won't get lost in the shuffle.

Wayne, I understand your disappointment in the lack of votes.  December is a crzay / busy time for many and maybe that prevented many from being around right now.  I really did love this board..even though I had very little time for it since I moved to NYC.  I still think this board has great members and tons of diabetes knowledge and hopefully that will continue on with the new board.  I hate change.

That's great, Christine, that you will check on this board to the end.  I don't want to lose anyone in the shuffle, and planned to check, too.

I agree we have a wealth of diabetes knowledge within our members and hope everyone will continue to share it with us.

Christine,
I'm feeling sentimental, too. This is the first board I ever joined when I was feeling isolated having diabetes.

It's strange because I feel the same sentimentality.  Maybe it's because this seemed like home after going through so many changes several years back.  I'm not good with change either, but maybe we with all of our input the new place can have a great vibe that will feel like going home for current members and a welcoming place for new faces.

I certainly appreciate all of the work that Wayne, Suz and everyone else involved have gone to in searching out a new board.

I looked back through our post history and it brought a smile to my face. Who could forget our very first post (10/20/2003) by Glorysgoofy1... In her post she said "Cannot wait to see and meet you all on the boards". I really think that was her first and last post. How about the post from Karend on 11/14/2003 where she asks "What dress should I wear for Saturday's wedding?"...seems like yesterday. Who can count the endless amount of times Christine has gone from the Pump to Lantus (I think it was a lot!) in the past 5 years. I wonder what ever happened to the "package?"... I bet Granitebobber or Janeymouse ran off with it..hmm. Last but not least I thought I'd give you an update on my wife... on 2/11/2004 I started a thread with the title "My non diabetic wife and Insulin". I gave my wife one unit of Novolog insulin and checked her blood sugar every fifteen or so minutes for the rest of the evening. Some said she would drop dead or turn into a mutant. I am here to tell you she is doing great!!! ...(knock on wood!)

Cheers!

Danny

Oh my God..it is 5 years!!!!  Your post made me laugh Danny.  I remember when I started this board I im'ed Danny and Suz to make sure they would be members.  I thought if I have at least 2 members then I will do it because I was so sick of fighting with that lady (the red haired one whose name I cannot think of right now).  (Floating off and remembering the "modeling" pictures she took of herself).  Anyhow, I think I may follow Danny's lead and go back and read some of the old posts.

By the way Danny, I think this is only the 2nd time I went off of the pump.  Once before I ripped it off and threw it against the wall (literally!) and I remember how sad it looked with the infusion set dangling.  I came home later that night and made peace with it.  Ahhhh such fond memories
