Hi Pam-     Right now I am basically doing treadmill (cardio).  I try to do about 4 miles about 5x per week.  What works for me is doing it in the morning!  Here is what I do..I either don't eat at all until after I work out OR if I do eat..I take 1/2 of the insulin I would normally take.  I always take my Lantus..but it is the Humalog that will drop me hard if I work out on an "active" bolus.  I now keep my glucometer on my treadmill while I workout and I also keep skittles or some other glucose on the machine.  Nothing annoys me more then having to eat junk to keep up with my workout.  I keep trying to tweek my routine so that lows don't play a part in them but I have decided to not stress it and just do what I have to do.  I am sure this didn't help at all and I am sure you will find everyone has their own little tricks of what works.     Christine |
