Two Handy Candle Tips
Wiping dusty candles with old nylon panty hose restores their shine.

You can make candles dripless by soaking them in saltwater for a few hours before you light them.

You can also freezer them first. They don't drip then.

had not heard the salt water soaking before....knew about sticking them in the freezer tho.

Will have to try the salt water and decide which I prefer....that or the freezer.

Also if before you light them, trim the wick to a quarter inch you won't have so much of a problem and also hug the candle, so that way it keeps burning itself so it won't have so much of a problem with drip.  With the big 3 or 4 wick candles though you don't trim the wick since they need the bigger flame to burn the wax.  Learned this from when I use to do candle parties!  Hope this helps some of you out with your candles!

Squinty,  just take both hands around the candle and bring them up gently to the top of the candle.  Or you can put both hands around the top of the candle after blowing the flame out and gently hug your hands against the wax.  That way, you have a wall above where the flame is and when the candle is lit, it will burn more of itself instead of dripping wax all over the place.

Sorry that I didn't explain better in my earlier post!

Darc,

I just thought you meant to hug it to give some extra TLC to it so it does what we want. LOL!  Just kidding..  LOL!!  Thanks for the tip. I burn candles all the time and have learned a few new things here.
