It has always been our Policy here at D&V to use UNcopyrighted material and or OUR own works. There is getting to be so many people out there trying to claim lawsuites against others for many infractions. I came across this article that is being widley used, DO you think we need this posted here at D&V Please comment. **COPYRIGHT NOTICE**

without profit or payment for non-profit research, education

I know that we try to look for any copyright material, and we deleate them as soom as we see them, and then give the poster an explation of why it was deleated. I agree with everyone that since we are a non-profit group that we should be able to use the art with permission of the artis. I also agree with the other post about this. I don't see what it would hurt. Anyway that is my 2 cents worth. Morning Glory |

What legally has a copywrite?? Just because someone puts © does not make it legal copywrite,,,,If you put a disclaimer on your site,,,,,,,That's different,,,most of us know disney characters are copywritten,,, dreamsicles, precious moments, hummel to name a few,,,, And yet I find it hard to believe any of these companies would object to a newbie accidently using something they had tubed,,, To be safe it would probably be a good idea to post some sort of acknowledgement, moon..just to protect yourself.. This site it private and unless you're member you can't see what's been used anyway,,,,,The managers can delete whatever they think is illegal,,,<S> My 2 bits,., LOL ShakeyLady |

I think this should probably be included. I, myself, will not use a copywritten tag if I know it's copywritten, even if you have permission from the artists, simply because it will probably get posted in some other site that isn't a teaching site, and I wouldn't want any of the students to get in trouble for posting it, or being embarrassed by having it deleted. (Some groups aren't very tactful when deleting posts). Thats my 2¢ worth..............God Bless.........Hugs, Fancy |

Just to clarify for you Sharon..We are now and have been for awhile completely PRIVATE and NO NON MEMBERS can not see this site at all now... But I think it is a personal decision to use what you feel most safe and comfortable with and I think most of us would and do avoid any KNOWN copyright stuff as you all said. Bottom line MY IDEA ONLY is I can't a imagine a judge or lawyer that would take a psp student to court and win & if it was me what on earth would they get from me as dirt poor as I am...If i do in fact use a tube that is copy written then it will be by mistake only. |

There should now be a meeting called before staff on this issue as to whether or not we want to allow some copyrighted leaway here at D&V. I feel we are safe enough under the federal Guidlines to alow some but not all, I feel that we owe our members the posibilities to at least share here some of there artwork. Schedule me in for a Sunday or Saturday late night if possible and I will attend as well as any updates staff may have. THE COPY RIGHT ISSUES OUT THERE IS ONE OF THE REASONS I AM SCARED TO DEATH TO USE PSP. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I CAN AND CAN'T. BECAUSE OF MY EYES NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE SOME COPYRIGHTS AND OR NOT KNOWING WHEN AND HOW SNAGS COME IN THE PICTURE, ITS MUCH SAFER FOR ME NOT TO TOUCH ANYONES WORK. I KEEP MORE FRIENDS WHEN THY KNOW I WON'T EVER BE ONE TO DO SOMETHING THEY DON'T OR DIDN'T WANT TO HAPPEN. |
