Hi Derb...
First off...WELCOME
We have all been where you are about downloading and installing programs....
You just need to go thru it step by step....
1. Make a folder somewhere on your computer for and name it downloads.
(Easy place to put it is on the desktop...the way to make a new folder there si to right click in a clear area on the desktop..when the new window opens...go to make a new folder...left click on that and you will see a folder with the name "New Folder" highlighted in blue....you can name your folder at this time.)
2. Go to the program you want to download....click on it and when the window comes up that ask if you want to "Run or Save"...click on save..also be sure that the "Always ask before opening this type of file" is checked.
3. Another window will open asking where you want to save the file....in the drop down arrow at the top of the window...go to your desktop...left cleck on that and the to your download folder...left click on that......When your download folder shows in the window click.... Okay.. After the download is complete.....you just go to your desktop and open that folder and the download will be in there.
You now know where to look for the program you just downloaded.
This is a EZ way of doing it.....I make a folder on my extra drive for all downloads....this way I don't have a lot of stuff on my "C" drive taking up room.
