1. Go to the link here and get the ding for birthdays, (Birthdaze) save it and open and minimize it and it will show up in your PSP font index drop down list.

2. Open PSP and get a new image of a size you want. I used a 500 by 500 transparent image.

3. Fill with a nice color of your choice.

4. Go to blinds under textures and give it 6 width, 52 opacity and light from left to top and white in the color box and click OK.

5. Now select your selection tool and find the rounded rectangle and set your settings on 8 for feather and anti checked and drag out the rounded rectangle leaving a bit of the border of the blinds showing around the outside of it.

6. Get a new layer and fill with a nice color of your choice.

7. Select none.

8. Now go to image add a border of 10 in all boxes and the color you just filled with for the center.

9. Now you have a blank background tag.

10. Now get black in both color boxes and find your birthdaze ding in your font drop down list and I used a size of 300 and the key G for my bear box but you can use any ding shape you like. TYPE it on your font window and click OK.

11. Now if you used a vector for your text change that to a raster.

12. Now using your magic wand and settings of Add/Shift - tolerance 20, contiguous checked - anti checked and inside chosen you can begin to fill the image to colors of you choice.

NOTE here..If you zoom in on your ding image and you see broken lines that will not allow you to fill your ding as a tube then you will need to get your pen tool out and use the settings here as shown and use the dot to dot method of closing up the gaps.

Be sure to have your ding layer activated when you do this and when you do your connections be sure to change the vector to a raster in layers and merge down to the ding layer so that it is all one layer.

I like to get ants and then get new layers for my fills but that is up to you..you can fill the same image ding layer if you prefer. Also be sure if you do fill in new layers that your RE-Activate the ding layer before getting more ants to fill.

Here are 2 ideas..you can either use inner bevel or you can use cut out as these

2 screen shots show for areas of your ding image. But you need to do them while you

have ants or if you have separate layers for them to work right. and be sure to

Select none when you are done with each area you are working on before you go to the next area.

If your ding image looks rough or has gaps you can always Expand under selections and modify and refill on a layer or use the cutout on that new expanded ant area..

This is just another hint when making dings into tubes.

When you are all done with your ding tube and have it merged down to be one layer and your tag background another layer so you have 2 layers only you can get a new layer for your watermark and another new layer for your text and finish arranging things so you have a birthday tag. Save in PSP or animate this is your choice.

Remember your pen tool can do a lot to fix things or add to things and is easy to use if you use the dot to dot method and then right click when you are at the end of your drawing an area as shown here and when you right click the last square box click the apply.
