We went to Villa Grove for the afternoon Mothers Day service.
It was just the 2nd Sunday of reopening since late fall of 2006.
We have a new preacher and I can't remember his name yet..hehee..
He is past 70 I know and just built his own new home in the valley!
Amazing!!!
Villa Groves population is only about 100 full time resident.
My families ranch is about 5 miles from Villa Grove.
The church is a southern baptist. An old community building
the church bought and remodeled into a nice church.
The dining area of the church is now the home for my old kitchen
out of my old home and the furniture is some of mine that we keep
in the activity area and many of Mothers plants. heheee...
I can remember going to this building as a child for community dances
and gatherings, funerals and etc.
It was here when I was 12 that one summer when the missionaries
came through Villa Grove and offered us kids bible school that
I accepted the Lord as my Savior. So this building or church means
a lot to me and I hope we can get more people to attend the 3pm
services on Sunday afternoons.
Peggy above lives in Costa Rica all but the 6 weeks she comes to stay in her little house in Villa Grove.
In Costa Rica she is a missionary and works on a missionary farm that her father built many years ago.
Jimmy and Carme...Jim was just swallowing a drink of punch...heheeee..
