Hi Mike, Thanks for the site. I descend from Piers Butler on my great great
grandmother, Jane Sargint/Sargeant who was an Anglican and who became a
Catholic when she married John Coumans. They had their first child of seven
children in Canada, a daughter, Mary Coumans, in 1826, in New Brunswick.
They were both born in Ireland, with Jane being born in Clonmel, County
Tipperary in 1800. She was the daughter of John Sargint/Sargeant and
Catherine Beauchamp. John Sargint was the son of Mary Bagnal and Richard
Sargint, and it is from Mary Bagnal's family that I descend from Piers
Butler. They had married in the Anglican Church(Church of Ireland) in Cahir,
Ardfinnan C of I, in May 1771. I know of the family from Jane Beauchamp, and
am trying to find Mary Bagnals' parents and grandparents. This line descends
from George Bagnal, grandson of Nicolas Bagnal who was Marshall of Ireland
for Elizabeth Tudor, and who died at Greencastle in Newry. Gabe

Hello Gabe

I came across this in my search for Ledger/St. Leger (my own family).  Thought I would post here just in case it is of interest.
