I am seeking information on Cox Brooks born abt 1774 (parents unknown) in Middlesex, England and died Apr 1847 in St Pancras, Middlesex, England.  He married Susannah Mosely (birth, death and parents unknown) on 19 Apr 1795 in St Luke Old Street, Finsbury, London, England.   I would like to know to whom to write for copies of original documents.

Cox had something to do with piano manufacture as his son Henry (b 20 Mar 1815 in St Pancras, Middlesex, England, d 23 Jan 1887 in Hampstead, Middlesex, England) took over the business.  Cox had a daughter, Elizabeth (not verified) born abt 1801 and married James Rose, a dentist from Liverpool, England.  He had sons Thomas,b abt 1803, James b abt 1809, and John b 10 Dec 1812 in St Marylebone, London, England.  I would like to verify the chrildren and if there were any others.

Mike, I received a download of the will and it is the right family, as far as Elizabeth is concerned as she is mentioned as Elizabeth Rose in the will.  I am still not sure if Henry is my correct ancester.

Elizabeth is my gggrandmother, who with James Rose (dental surgeon), who had George Henry b 22 Jun 1818; d 7 Aug 1886, James Edward (my ggrandfather) b 2 Jul 1820; d 26 May 1893, John Charles b 13 May 1822; d 8 Sep 1824, John Frederick b 10 Mar 1824; d ?, & Elizabeth Helen b 8 Dec 1825, may have died before 1841.  All were born in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.

James Edward (also a dental surgeon) m 2nd Isabella Jane Brooks b 4 Oct 1842 (St Pancras), d 13 Dec 1907 (Birkenhead, Cheshire) m 3 Mar 1868 (Havant (South Hayling), Hampshire, England), daughter of Henry Brooks (Elizabeth's brother??) and James (Jane) Isabella Nichols.  (Appears that he married his cousin??)

I apologize for the double emails as my computer keeps defaulting to msn email when I try to reply directly to your emails.  Should be fixed on Tuesday when my computer literate son comes home.

If you need further information let me know.

Mike, this is my family.  However, I am not sure where LDS got the birth date from.  I already have a record confirmation from the National Archives (Record BXCB 221771, Page 243, Vol.1 Dec 1842. Dist: St Pancras; County Middlesex).  The LDS date may be her confirmation date.

What I am trying to confirm is if this Henry Brooks is the same Henry Brooks listed as Cox Brooks' son in his will.

Thanks, Bob

Mike, before you go to far with this one, I don't think this is my family.  Birth records and/or sites listing birth dates show Jane Isabella Nichols as either Jane Isabella or James Isabella.  Records show that her parents are James Nichols and Isabella Cairns.  Bob

Mike, I looked at the marriage record copy that I received last year for Henry Brooks and James Isabella Nichols, and Cox Brooks is his father.  Application # PAS1067025.  Her name on the record, believe or not is James, and father is also James, R.N. Royal Navy.  Document dated 30 Oct 1841.  Not sure how I missed that information, must be old age.  Bob
