Hi Fiona, nice to hear from you.  I'm really sorry but i don't know anyone from the Bull family.  If i do hear anything i will let you know.  I come from the Deering family, which i think originated from Hastings back in 1066, they were given land.  My Dad was born in Dublin and i'm searching there for ancestors

Hi Fiona

This is Kay and I will see if I can help trace your ancestors.  In the hope of getting us started, perhaps you can tell me what information you have already on the Bull family you have been tracing; maybe we can find a connection to the Henry you are tracing.

Presumably this ancestor is on your father-in-law's side of the family - anything you know about the ancestors surround Henry could help us getting to the bottom of it.

I look forward to hearing from you with the information you already have.

Ok Fiona

I will endeavour to see if I can find anything on Henry - check back soon to see if I've managed to pinpoint useful information.

Hmmm, this is quite a tricky one Fiona in that without knowing for sure who Henry's parents are, we could be tracing completely the wrong family.  I've looked at the marriage entry for Henry and Gwendoline and see that he doesn't appear to have a middle name (though of course this may not be correct).  On that basis I have found a birth record as follows:

Births Mar 1903   (>99%)
BULL  Henry    Marlbro'  5a 89   Scan available - click to view

This appears to be the only entry (other than one more for a Henry Edward Bull) in Wiltshire in 1903.

I appreciate it would entail the cost of £7 but you may like to think about applying for a birth certificate as this should certainly give the details of Henry's parents - usually the father and his occupation and the mother including her maiden name.

I will leave you to consider this but in the meantime will certainly search to see if I can find any census entries that could possibly fit the occupation of sweep.

Sorry I can't be more helpful at this stage Fiona.  I'll wait to hear from you.
