Hi All,
I am doing some research for a friend and came across this brick wall.

The information I have about this chap so far is:

Born 1879 (according to marriage certificate) birthplace unknown, father Edward
Born 1883 (according to death certificate) registered by second wife Jessie

Married 27 Sep 1905 to Agnes Mary Smith at St Phillips Church, Camberwell. Residence given as Maryhill Barracks, Glasgow. Occupation Coachman.

Married Dec Qtr 1942 in Edmonton, London to Jessie Mansell.

Died 06 September 1951 at The Chase Cottage, Mapledurham, Oxon.

He and Agnes had 3 children, all born in Scotland:
Henry St John Brooks b 29 Nov 1909, Eccles, Berwickshire d. 06 Sep 1989 in Hendon, Middlesex
Ruby Alic Brooks b 28 May 1912 in Bunkle & Preston, Berwickshire d in 1993 in Wiltshire
Eva Brooks b about 1906? in Berwick?

I have been completely unable to find a matching record for Thomas Henry Brooks in any UK or Scottish census! I also cant find a birth certificate in either England and Wales or Scotland, because I cannot be certain of his date or place of birth!

Family history says he was a driver/coachman all his life. He bestowed the middle name St. John on his son and insisted that his son pass it on to his sons as it was awarded to him by royalty (?) of course I have been unable to verify this either.

Additional info is that his daughter Ruby was married in Berwick in 1939, his daughter Eva was married in Greenwich in 1935 and his son Henry was married in Barnet in 1939.

This has been a frustrating internet search so far; just hoping you guys can come up with anything.

Thanks and regards
Janice
