Mike & Sue,  Many thanks for your replies - so quick!
 
Mike,   Soldiers coming into australia were not listed by name on immigration records only the regiment on board the ship.  The 80th regiment came on quite a few ships over 6 years or so
 
Sue.  Yes I have a copy of his marriage certificate and there is absolutely no info on it other than the church where he married and his wifes name
I thought that marrying in the presbyterian scots church may mean he was scottish but I don't know where the name Baldry comes from
I also have copy of death certificate which has no extra details except his age and place of death
I am doing this tree for a dear friend and this is the last gap to fill if possible
Hoping someone will know of him or be connected to the same family.
