Hi Liz I had a reply from Jim Massey for you

Dear Michael,

Thank you for your e-mail. We do not hold any records of individual
soldiers, they have always been held centrally.

Please read the attached letter and write to the National Archives in
Kew. They should be able to give you basic details such as date of
enlistment and date of discharge. Sometimes they have dates of service
abroad.

The 80th regiment served in Australia from 1837 - 1844 and served in New
South Wales, New Zealand, Norfolk Island and I think they were also in
Queensland. They were mainly involved in providing detachments to guard
convict work parties.

When you have the dates of Peter Baldry's service, please get back in
touch and we will try and pass on details of where the 80th were.

Yours sincerely

Jim Massey
