Hoping someone will know the answer to this query
If a persons BDM records were lost in the London Blitz is there any other way to get info about these lost records  i.e. any other places where the info may be that we can access today.
Hope you can understand what I mean as hard to describe here
Thanks

Liz

Hi Liz most Birth Death and Marriage records for England Still Exist.During the London Blitz It was Military records that were Destroyed.
The London Archives hold some Records If Irish.
Kew holds most records for England.

Depending on where People live,There are Various online options.Finding People Via Bmd for Various counties.
Electoral Lists Will tell Where Living.
192.com will show some births or deaths but are expensive
cheaper to pay a subscription to Find my past.
For Example if you go to Lancashire BMD on the left of the page it has counties.
Try that.

Mike,   Well this sounds like good news.  I have been trying to help a friend whose husband came from London and thought his records were destroyed in the blitz.  I will get back when I hear from this friend with more details
It certainly sounds a bit more promising than I thought
Thanks
Liz
