Thank you for letting me join your group. I am new to Irish research and wonder if anyone can help me find my great grandmother and her family's details.  Her name was Jeanette Bramston. She was born in  Dublin area about 1884. Her death certificate gives her parents as Richard Bramston and Rebecca Rachel Kenny ms Kershaw.  I wonder if she was married twice with  Kenny being there?  I think they spent time in England too because my gran used to talk about england but I cant recall where. If you can give me any help or advice I would be very grateful.

To clarify what I said in first message.  Jeanette Bramston's death certificate actually gives her mother's name as Rebecca Rachel Bramston, maiden surname Kershaw, formerly Kenny which is why I was puzzled.  She had a sister Isabella, born about 1886.  Also, my gran used to talk about a place in Enlgand named Wallesy? which is why I thought they spent time in England.  Sorry to have been so muddled.

I have done a parent search on LDS.  Still can't find Richard, but there is a John Bramston who married Isabella Carrol.  Do you think there could be a connection, with the name Isabella?  Especially as there are very few Bramstons listed in Ireland.

It also appears that they had a son John who married Isabella Meredieth Hall.

Here is what I found.  Sorry some of them are repeated, but I did one search with mother Isabella Carrol, and another with mother just Isabella.
Let me know what you think.

Many many thanks, Marion, for all the information you have posted.  Because it is a lot to take in and study I have printed the page and will go through it all carefully.  You must have put in such a lot work and I really appreciate it.  The name Bramston is very unusual - we dont know any other families with that name in it.  At times, we wondered if it really should have been Branston and somebody at sometime misheard and wrote it down wrongly. Who knows.  Anyway, I'm sure this is a very good start you have given me so I'll get through all the stuff and get back to you later.
Gillian
