Am searching for information about Barnard or Bernard MacLaughlan He was born around 1781, in Ireland, and moved to Keighley in Yorkshire, before 1834. On the English census records for 1851 he is stated as coming from ?Newsby, Ireland, but this could have been transcribed wrongly, as have been unable to find anwhere of this place name.
I would be grateful for any help in finding him.
Thanks
Margaret

Hi Margaret

I found these (below) for you on LDS.  I think the MacLoughlin / Muse marriage could be Barnard's son, as it is registered in Keighley.  What do you think?

Not sure about the second record, but sent it anyway.

We could not find the census where it said Barnard was born in Newsby, Ireland.
I f we could actually find it, then we may be able to see what it is.  My first thought was NEWRY which is in Co. Down in the North or Ireland.

Marian
