Hello! My ggrandmother was Elizabeth McNamara. Her death cert says she was born in Baltimore on 12/25/1878. She moved to Chicago at some point where she met and married my great grandfather, Richard Rogers. She died in 1919. Her parents are James M. McNamara and Honorah Lynch and they were both born in Ireland. She also had a younger brother, James. I found an entry in Ancestry.com Chicago Irish Families which lists a James McNamara whose parents were James and Honorah Lynch who was born and baptized in County Limerick. If that is him, perhaps the Baltimore thing is wrong and my ggrandmother was born in Ireland. It seems strange that her parents would have been here and then went back to Ireland, no? I know McNamara is a common name, but pared with a Honorah Lynch seems like a hit... Please help! Kay |

Thank you so much for your work! I don't think the second message pertains to our family - we are Rogers, not Rodgers and the first names are correct, but the other info doesn't fit. But the first message may be a hit! I mistakenly typed 1878 for Elizabeth's birth year but I just double checked the death cert and it says born 1868. So could they have been in the states and gone home? As I said, she had a younger brother James who may have been born in 1879 in Limerick. Is Honorah a very common name? Again, thank you so much!
