Today, while searching for McCarthy ancestors, I find the name Healey and Mclearthy associated with McCarthy surname.

At some point, I decided to try Mcearthy without the (L), lo and behold the search for Mcearthy brought me to multi federal census where the name was clearly written McCarthy

Hope this info can help someone.
