Im hoping someone can help me. My GGGrandfather James Callaghan born abt 1850 was married to an Armstrong (possibly Bridget?)  born abt 1850, we believe her  father was a nobleman.
The only info i have on Bridget is that she married James, they had a son also named James born 1873 and no doubt there were other siblings. They lived in and around the border of County Tipperary (Rathbeg,Fennor area) and County Kilkenny (Urlingford, Islands,Ullard area) Any info would be very welcome.
Mike has kindly informed me that there is a book named Irish Landed Gentry and that perhaps Marian can help me on this.
Thank you Pat

Hi Maz Mike & Managers.
As you know I thought we had nailed the Callaghan/Armstrong when you gave me the info on Silvermines(Armstrong) & Loughbrack(Callaghan) unfortunately I have not go any further on this but I havent given up!
So while searching today I came across another family of Callaghans from TEMPLEMORE also a Major William Armstrong and wife of Farney Castle, Thurles who were members of the TEMPLEMORE Archery Club in 1858.
Now Im not going to get too excited about this LOL!
Can anyone tell me apart from sending for a birth cert of any way of finding if Major W Armstrong had a daughter called Bridget. Ive googled and asked Jeeves all day.
Anyone got info on Farney Castle Thurles Co.Tipperary please mail me.

Thanks Patzy C
