I am looking for an ancestor's family, John Adams,  who was born in Clonduff, County Down in 1842.

 

I have load of information coming forward from 1859 when he joined the Staffordshire Regiment of the British Army but nothing before that apart from his birth year.

 

His father's name was David (this was on his marriage certificate to Lucy Wheeler from Hampshire.

 

This has been a brickwall for about 4 years now but I really would like to go back further.

 

There maybe a Scottish connection way back before 1842 but I guess that that is for the future (as it were).
