Hi i have some information from my fathers birth mothers side of the family and wondered if anyone could help me out with any other information please this information is a bit all over the place as this is my dad's birth mums family and he was adopted at 6 weeks old, but managed to trace his family about 5 years ago and has managed to get some information from them but they did not know he existed until then so i will give you what information i have and hope that it will help you in your search and if you turn up any other information along the way i would really appreciate that as well. James Conn i think looking at an old photo i would say would have been born around the 1900's as his sister Annie (dad's birth mum) was born 16.2.1910 and she was the 3rd child. Eldest child was Alexander Conn then James, Annie, Bob (William), Georgina, William, and Hector being the youngest. Their parents names were Alexander and Georgina Conn Georgina (nee Morrison) and as far as i can make out they lived in the Inverurie area as Annie was a house servant at Nether Blackhall farm when my dad was born. my dad was named Charles Conn at birth and was adopted by Robert Scott O'Farrell and Sophia O'Farrell (nee Thomson) of Park Street Aberdeen in July 1934 he then became Charles O'Farrell. I hope this is of some help to you as it totally baffles me. Once again many thanks for all your help Dee x

Hi Dee Welcome back, and I hope you had a nice holiday. You are right that we still have not caught up with the elusive James Conn, but I will keep on trying for you. Just one question: do you have access to Ancestry? If not, I can send you any census images you want, as I have access. Just let me know. Marian |

Hi Dee Sorry for delay in replying, but I was hoping to be able to find something for you. But alas, nothing to be found as yet! Let's hope that as more info becomes available online James will eventually appear. Meanwhile, I think Kay is havingsome success with some of your other ancestors. Marian Manager |

Hi Marian thank you for that and sadly no i have not found the elusive Mr Conn, there have been a couple of mentions of him here and there, and on some information i read the other day i think it is possible he was born around 1860's and not sure but also think there are 2 James Conn one being my dads mums brother and one being her brother not to sure none of the info is very clear i have. But although i have now got the ancestery back to 200AD its the Conn's from around the 1800's that are the missing link think they must have gone on holiday and forgot to come back lol. Somebody sent me some info the other day that they had found and it looks as if Alexander Conn snr was in a workhouse in England leaving the family in Scotland, i havent had a chance to ask my Dad about that but i dont think he would know as he would have told me that. Confused? I am lol. Its amazing you can get info from 200AD but 1800's which really isnt that long ago in Genealogy (well i dont think it is) are very elusive. But any info you can manage to find i would be gratefull. Dee
