Interested in the COGLEY FAMILY,  William John Cogley was born about 1846 in Dublin parents Thomas Cogley & Ellen/Helen Cogley nee Brady/Burns. Where this family came from is a mystery?  William married in Australia in 1888 and had a family of nine children (I have that info.) I would love to know more regarding this Irish family but the info. is really scarce to start searching in Ireland, any ideas or help gratefully received.   Anne K

Hi Ann,I ran a search last night on the Cogley family in the Dublin area. There were 3 or 4 families listed, but not the ones you require. There are a lot of Cogleys in Liverpool so the chances are they sailed over to Dublin as its Just over the water so to say.I also checked out the IRISH  FAMILY HISTORY FOUNDATION site .And no record on there. This does not mean they were not from Dublin it Just means the Records may not have been added .
Dublin Heritage site was also another i Checked there list shows nothing. The IGI lists a few names but again not the names you are searching for.In the 1911 Census of Dublin this you can find on the Irish National Archives site. They show just one Cogley a Bridget .

Hope this helps in some way

Mike

Thank you Mike, I guess I will just put this in the too hard basket for a while. Cogley said with a broad Irish brogue could be written a lot of ways and I have been told it was used as Quigley too.   Thanks again.  Anne K
