John Cloherty married Emma Dicker
Emma was born daughter of an Army Major Edwin Dicker and Margaret O'Malley at London Middlesex England married at Germany Ireland 1837 when aged 19 years and had two daughters by James Hoare . When Emma immigrated with her new husband John Cloherty, the two girls Marion , then 32 yes and Ellen, 36 would most likely be married by that time and presumably stayed back home in Ireland. I have found no mention of them again.
They landed at Moreton Bay on the ship "Corlic" which left Glasgow on the 30th of October 1874 and arrived in Brisbane five months later on the 9th of March 1875. John Cloherty died of food poisioning in 1876 just one year after his arrival. Emma lived for many years eventually after having livied a full life, died of heart disease, senile decay , gastroenteritis and exhaustion. Colleen Walker, grandaughter said that she remembered visiting her grandmother at Breakfast Creek Hamilton and that they kept race horses there. Another daughter grand-daughter died in infancy and was buried with Emma at Toowong Cemetry.
Emma's 2 Daughters Also migrated to Australia and had families
