Hi Mike, you have been busy on my behalf again, if I could I'd shout you a Guinness.
I have relations living down near Woollongong, and it is quite a nice seaside area.
We have lot's of strange aboriginal names of places over here.
The message re the cousins and the shipping one are very interesting, do you feel they are the right ones. I notice that the family mentioned is actualy the children of Patrick and as Bridget died giving birth to the twins, that would explain why one was adopted as all their children were sent to live with Uncle John and Aunty Mary (Carey) you have unravelled another piece of history.
Will have to search for Bridgets family as well as Carmody now we have here surname. Do you think it was Patrick alias Matthew? All his records in Australia were Patrick and he named his first son Patrick. I know it had Bridget dairymaid ( correct) was that in 1838?
Sorry to keep asking you more questions. I feel we are at last getting there.
Thanks again, Regards Zoe
