Hello there
Is there some kind person who can assist my friend with the following , i have copied and pasted her message.
Many thanks
Pam
My Gr/grandfather -
My Gr/grandfather - Patrick Lenehan (or Lenihan or however spelt) was born in Clashmore, Waterford Ireland circa 1840 to parents William Lenehan and Catherine Coleman who were married about 1838 in Catholic Church, Clashmore, Waterford Ireland.   I have no dates of birth or death for William and Catherine.

Patrick Lenehan, Miner, married Susanna Gavan who was born 24th June 1843 in County Mayo Ireland, on the 21 June 1864 at Church of the Annunciation, Chesterfield, Derbyshire UK.   They had a daughter Catherine Lenehan on 29 March 1865 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire UK and then they turned up in Australia in 1868.

To date, none of us have been able to locate the name of the ship on which they came here (much to everyone's frustration).   It appears they had twins Mary Ann and William born 7 Oct 1868 here in Queensland.  They died the same day.   It would appear Susanna was pregnant with the twins on the way out here.   Between this time and 1883 they had another 9 children which included my Grandfather John Lenehan all born in Queensland.

I believe Susanna's parents were Patrick Gavan and Bridget Geharty, or Geraghty - no dates for them.

I've been looking at immigrant passenger lists but have only come up with one possible and I'm rather doubtful about this to be truthful.

It was for PATRICK LENEHAN, age 25 on the ship Strathearn arriving in Queensland 3 May 1875 - obviously several years after the births/deaths of the twins.  As I say, I'm doubtful but thought it worth a mention.

Marian has also been searching for me on your Lenehans and she has found the following:

Surname First Name Townland Parish County
Following are the exact matches:
Lenihan John Garranturton Stradbally Waterford
Lenihan John Garranturton Stradbally Waterford
Lenihan Cornelius Town of Lismore Church Lane Lismore and Mocollop Waterford

Lenihan William Crough Dunhill Waterford

Surname First Name Townland Parish County

Lenihan William Crough Dunhill Waterford
Lenihan William Crough Dunhill
Lenihan Patrick Windmill Lane Youghal Cork

Marian also checked and found that Clashmore, were Patrick was born, is 12 miles southwest of Dungarvan, and on the way to Youghal.

Hope this is of some help.
