Please can anyone help me trace Thomas Frederick Moore married in West Ham, Essex England on 22 August 1912 where it staes he was aged 29 - so presumably born  c1883.  I believe he was born in Ireland (can't find an english birth registration ) and at the time of the marriage his father Samuel was deceased.  Can't find Thoams on 1901 census so assume he came over from Ireland after that.

Not sure where he was born but family legend says he was Irish. He worked in the British Civil Service in London so I don't know if that has any bearing on if he was from the North or South.

Vaguely believe he had half brothers and sisters but no details.

Thomas married Ruth Read and hadn't been married before.
Thanks

Sandra

Hi Mike, I think this Donegal record looks more likely as the Samuel born in West Ham would only have been 17 when Thomas was born and is not so likely to be deceased by 1912 (Moore / Read marriage).
I would also have expected to find some records for Thomas on 1991 and 1901 census if he had been born in England.

I think this Irish one looks very likely but I don't know if we will ever be able to prove that or when Thomas came to England or that samuel had died before 1912.  thanks very much for all your work.

Hi again,  I have come across a civil birth record for Thomas Frederick Moore b 10.06.1883 in Newtonstewart Co Tyrone. Father Samuel Moore (occ school teacher), mother Mary Bailey, sponsor 1  Jane (- don't understand what that means).
Is it possible to find out anything further via census records or any other means to see if this is the Thomas who ends up in England?

If this is now closed down as you are busy with other things, I do understand but did just wonder if you were able to help.
Thanks
Sandra

Hi  again- after a long gap!
I am really excited as have now managed to firm up more details.
I have looked at the 1911 census and found Thomas Frederick Moore in Forest Gate London aged 27 working for Civil Service and resident in England.  This was my grandfather and he was with 2 sisters and his widowed mother Mary Moore (nee Bailey) aged 60 (born c 1651) which gives her birthplace as Montreal Canada.
Thomas was born in Newtonstewart Tyrone as was his younger sister Annie Elizabeth Moore(aged 20 on the census) but older sister Margaret Bailey Moore was born in Belfast and aged 33 in 1911.
Is there anyway of finding out when father Samuel (who was a school teacher in Newtonstewart died) and if there were any other children?
Also any ideas on how I could look for ancestors for either Samuel or Mary?
Thanks
Sandra
