Thanks for the opportunity.
I'm trying to find a birth cert. or any other documents that could help me find family history for my GGF Frederick Frank NIGHTINGALE born. 1866, Ireland (Northern Ireland). (birth cert. buried with him in 1954, Cape Town, South Africa)
As a family we know GGF sang Irish Folksongs, gave away land for a church here in SA (Irish priest) and went back to Ireland in about 1911 to claim his inheritance left by his father (name/family unknown) He said he came from a family of about 22 children him being one of the youngest. His mother apparently was married for secound time. I found some info on Nightingales Farm/Cottage in Carrowreagh, Dundonald but I cannot make the Frederick connection. Can you help please!

GGF went by boat to India (boat: Sumatra) Master Nightingale seen recorded on transcript in 1895 leaving England. He jumped ship in South Africa and married here to a lovely lady (GGM) Wilhemina Knoop in about 1902, Kimberley, South Africa.

Any info relating to the NIGHTINGALES of Northern Ireland would be very welcome

regards

Clinton Nightingale

Thanks for the info mickym. How can I find out more about Frederick Nightingale of Newry? Sounds interesting. Could most of the Nightingales be related though? Big family. Hope Newry and Carrowreagh are one family.

Is there a list of wills that show children names that inherit from their parents?
I had come across a will from a John Nightingale from Carrowreagh and another two Nightingales, but they show one or two people that seem to inherit.

thanks again

No problem. I thought my keyboard was the only one doing it!
Does PRONI allow accessiblity to all their links?

Mike thanks for picking up the Newry bit. This is the closest I've got to the same (Frederick NIGHTINGALE) name from Ireland. Can we prove his second name?

I think the only way you can find that out is direct contact with proni.
There must be land deeds .
With that there Names would be in Full  as Either owning or leasing the Land

I rechecked The I F H F, THESE ARE only Nightingale records

Church Baptism Nightingale Robert 1868 Co. Sligo

Hi Micky, thanks for the info.
If I can't find any info of Frederick Frank Nightingale in Ireland, is there a possibility he could have been born in England and perhaps moved to Ireland with the family a bit later?
