Philip O'Brien, November 1941, Catholic, Possibly born in Co. Galway. Want to get parents' names but, don't have them as of yet. He was born first or second (1 brother, 2 sisters), so it is possible his father is a Philip (Phillip) as well.

Hi Dawn and Welcome. At the Moment we are Kind of Guessing He was from Galway.Do you Have a birth Cert for Him.O Brien is such a common Name in Southern Ireland. Now i notice you are in Canada. Can you tell me If Philip Was an Emigrant to Canada. If so There will be Passenger Records. So if you have not checked them I would do so.Ok lets start from Scratch on this Because of the year he was born 1941.There are no Census records Available,But Contact with the Gro is possible.Ok Obrien in Galway is like Finding a needle in a haystack,so many of them ,So please bear with us,And we will try to help.If Naming patterns are right, then yes his father could be Phillip to. So possible born 1918 to 1920.Most Records go up to 1911 again he misses the Census years. My advice first is to try and contact relatives still alive. As they may be able to give you more detail.I will try and check Galway but Cant promise on this one,That we will be able to turn up anything. If he was an Emigrant then the Passenger list will show where from. If you know anything else please let me know.If he was in Canada then Census records there may show up something Mike

It is possible he remained in England. All of his siblings lived in the same town with him. But, it is possible that he went back to Ireland. He did not emigrate prior to 1968, but anything after that I don't know yet. He did have an uncle that emigrated to New York as a cop, that would be his only connection over here at the time. Yeah a needle in a hay stack. I don't have any other names as of yet.

P. O'Brien's father may be in census. My irish grandfather was born in 1908 and didn't marry and have kids until the 40's.

Hi, I am in Canada and will not be making it to Ireland for quite awhile. I have been trying to get my dads birth cert. from the Gro in Ireland. However they have told me that I do not have enough info for them. I do not have his birth town and his mothers maiden name. So, I have sent them money and instead they have sent me a pass to go through the archives myself over there. If someone is going to look through the archives, I would greatly appreciate a hand!! I can send the pass. His name is Philip O'Brien November 4, 1941 from Co. Clare. Thank-you Dawn
