26 June 1901 Margaret Quinn age 52, declared she was the widow of Thomas Quinn ,who enlisted on the 15th August 1861 and was discharged October 9th 1864 and died 23 May 1901.
No children under the age of sixteen

Hugh Murphy of Castletown Cooley in the County of Louth in Ireland being parish priest___________ make oath  and say as follows:
 
 I am the  custodian of the Marriage  Register for the said Parish of Cooley,since the year 1878.

Jelora, I wonder if this could be my Thomas Quinn, I only have his sister's name and his parents.  I do not know who he married.  See my posting under BURLEY.
 
family tells me he was something in a war in the 1860's

Hi Carol,
Unfortunately, the above Thomas QUINN doesn't seem  to be related .
I reviewed the pension file of his wife Margaret and   information provided by  informants on affidavits filed on her quest for widow's pension.
Her husband Thomas was born in the year 1837.
It appears that he returned to  County LOUTH to marry Margaret  FEENAN after he was discharged from the military in N.Y.C.
 They resided in New York State. Thomas was admitted to the Soldier's Home in Bath, Steuben County, New York where he passed away in 1901.
If you have access to  Ancestry,it maybe helpful to  look through the Civil War databases to see if there is a  Thomas Quinn serving  from the State of Connecticut that  fits the profile of your Thomas Quinn.
