Now on the basis that Mary Orton was born 1870c I have searched 10 years each way of that to see if I can find William Throop. I've found two possible birth records as follows:

I also checked for births in Leicestershire but during that period nothing came up.

Well unfortunately nothing so far as been forthcoming but that's not to say there weren't there Simon. Have you emailed the churches to see if they can help you further??

But They Are Unable

But The Minister There Is Going To Ask The Parishes For Me

Hmmm, to be completely honest I'm not sure - I've exhausted the avenues I can think of. You could try checking all churches in the relevant area/parish records to see if this produces anything.
