Strolling freely through the wild grass that grew throughout the
territory, she caught the sent of a wolf that was strange to her.
–It
must be the new wolves that howled to the pack earlier- she thought.
She continued her journey through the lands to allow her to get
acquainted with the new territory. Large snow-white paws trotted
across the land, feathery silver fur blew lightly as the wolfess made
her way around. The wind brought again the scent of the foreign wolf.
She froze and thought for a while. The howl of the new wolf sounded
as if there was not one, but two wolves; the scent of this one was
different. She came to a site, far from what she was used to and sat
down. As the darkness begun to creep up on the world, she heard the
howl that confirmed that this was a different wolf. She looked
towards the den, to where the alpha female nested. The two males were
occupied with the two other wolves. Naturally, the alpha female would
be the one to greet this one. She perked up, ears turning slowly
from left to right and her eyes shifted from the den to the new male.
She wouldn't be the one to greet him; she was too new here
herself.
She looked up to a sky full of stars and most importantly, the large
moon that hung in the darkness, exposing only half of its whole. She
smiled as the sense of being loved took over her. She didn't know
why
this emotion had suddenly came to her, but she simply allowed this
feeling to enter her heart. Though she still felt out of place with
this new pack, some part of her was filled. That loneliness that
every lone wolf had to endure was no longer with her. She wagged her
tail as her thoughts began to trail off to the new wolves. She
wondered who were they, how they looked like and what their
personalities might be. Maybe after all these years alone, she was
just love sick. She flattened her ears when she thought of how this
might be true. She looked up again and dismissed these depressing
thoughts. She didn't need to think like this anymore; she
didn't need
to act like a lone wolf any longer. She was a part of a pack now and
her future will be much different from the past. Maybe soon she would
find a mate…maybe.
