Good Morning Friends...Happy Hump Day!

Yesterday was a long day with the election. I couldn't believe those long lines. I'm so happy that it's finally over. We now have a new President - elect and hopefully we all will be better from it. I know one thing we're all ready for a change.

Our temperatures are on the mild side. The morning low will be around 59 or 60 degrees. Another sunny day on today tap with a high of 80 degrees.

Well, I kinda took it easy on yesterday and didn't do not one thing...lol so today is catchup day. I'm trying to get my Thanksgiving menu together. I'm undecided if we should have a whole turkey or just do a turkey breast. That would be a first for us. It will probably be just the three of us but too early to tell.

Kitabell,  your hubby and your family are in my prayers. Hopefully this will be his last surgery.

 My thoughts and prayers are with all of  our friends that are in need special prayer due to family or personal  illness & also with our troops. May the Lord bring healing to you.

Have a great Wednesday everybody!

~ Daily Scripture ~

The LORD is thy keeper:
the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day,
nor the moon by night.

The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil:
he shall preserve thy soul.

The LORD shall preserve thy going out and
thy coming in from this time
forth, and even for evermore.

Psalm 121:5-8 KJV

Recipe Of The Month Winner Is...

***KITABELL***

Credit goes to Genie for posting this under Daily Recipes..
I made it and everyone raved about it...

Warm Caramel Apple Cake

~~~Cake~~~
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup whipping cream
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 large cooking apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced (about 2-1/3 cups)
1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® yellow cake mix
1-1/4 cups water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1/4 tsp. apple pie spice
Topping:
2/3 cup Betty Crocker® Whipped fluffy white frosting (from 12 oz. container)
/2 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed
Caramel topping, if desired
Preheat oven to 350° F.
In 1 quart heavy sauce pan, cook butter, whipping cream and brown sugar over low heat, stirring occasionally, just until butter is melted. Pour into 9" x 13" baking pan. Sprinkle with pecans; top with sliced apples. In large bowl, beat cake mix, water, oil, eggs and apple pie spice with electric mixer on low speed until moistened. Beat on medium speed 2 minutes. Carefully spoon batter over apple mixture. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Loosen sides of cake from pan. Place heatproof serving platter upside down on pan; carefully turn platter and pan over. Let pan remain over cake about minute so caramel can drizzle over cake. Remove pan. In small bowl, mix frosting and whipped topping. Serve warm cake topped with frosting mixture and drizzled with caramel topping.
 Morning Friends..
We broke record highs yesterday being in the 70's...But don't let that fool you..By the weekend we will be down into the 30's for highs..I even turned the heat off yesterday and have it off now..
Hubby will be having surgery on the 21st.As the doctor had thought the first fussion on the top side did not take..So they will go from behind and add rods and screws to hold it all together.He will be in a brace for at least 4 weeks or more.He has to stop smoking ..So thats what he will be working on for the next few weeks...
One client today and then home to plan supper...
Have a great day..
Kitabell
Good Morning!
Guess we can squeeze another warm day in before the nasty stuff expected comes on the weekend.  Like Kitabell I turned the heat off yesterday and opened some windows.  I cleaned my oven as those days of having an open window are fast coming to an end.   Not sure what all I'm doing today.  Thur & Fri I will be out-busy with appt etc so better make today count.
God Bless-
Good morning all.  Sorry I havnt been around much the past week or so but I have been soooo busy.  Between the hot water fiasco, my son moving home, a kidney infection and leaving tomorrow for Florida and working I havnt had much computer time and I miss it!
I leave tomorrow morning early and will be home next Tuesday.  I might have computer access but dont know for sure yet.
It is raining out now and is to get quite cold.  We have had very warm days, record breaking in fact.
Thats it for now,  I'll be back later
Have a good day,
Here I am up early again, can't decide if this time change is good for me or not, lol.
It's 8;30 and our walk was some time ago, took a pretty good one so Pookie has already gone back to bed. (she lives a "dogs" life)
My bed  is made etc. so my day is mine.
I sat up and watched the speeches last night, McCain made a very, very gracious one and ones heart had to be warmed to see the happy tears on so many faces, I said a prayer for our new Pres. and hope with all my heart he is sincere and can help this nation.
I "think" this new medicine the Dr. gave me last week just may be helping, I don't want to get all excited yet but I don't seem to be in such constant pain  which makes my mood and state of mind so much better.
I need to go look for some papers and not sure where I put them so instead of fretting I may as well go look.
Have a good day.
Hugs Betty
Morning everyone,
Temp in Denver at the moment is 36.  We're to get maybe to 42 today.  We might have some snow as well tonight or tomorrow.
I know what you mean about the Turkey Jolene.  But then the dressing is never the same.   LOL   I stuff the bird and make a dish that I bake in the oven, then mix the two together.
Good to see you on the boards Ace!
What caused all this trouble w/ hubby to begin with Kitabel?  Hope this next surgery will do the trick and that will be that.
Darn it Gramma!   I should have done my ovens yesterday too.  Wish you'd said something sooner!
Sally....we understand about your absence.  Sounds like you NEED that break.  Hope you have a great time!
Glad to hear you're doing better Betty!
Love your flower today Lindah!
Going to go up and do a few things for my folks today.
Have a good one!
Kay
Good morning everyone, its nice to get a break and check in with this wonderful group. I've sure you all. For the longest msn wouldn't let me in here no matter what I did. I'm thinking now with so many groups already moved that maybe thats why its working now. They don't have the traffic flow that they had so everything seems to be working pretty good right now. We've been working on remodeling our home with new tile floors and doors and door jams. Hubby's even putting a nice 5 inch baseboard trim up and its looking pretty good. The tile and doors we're buying or bought but everything else is being recycled in,lol. He has even brought in cabinets for the kitchen that although the color may not match the pattern does. We are painting the cabinets white anyway so thats working out great. You wouldn't believe the things that companys throw out just to try and get one up on looks,lol. These cabinets were only about 2 months old when they moved in and they want something different. He even brought 4 large cases of printer paper from a building they were told to clear for remodeling. Now if only they would throw the ink out too I'd be all set,lol. Goodness my dogs out back are going spastic on me so I best go see whats going on. Hugs to all and have a wonderful day. Hugs,Deb
Good Morning All,
I am so glad that the election is over and will be happy when things get back to normal.  I only hope that our new president elect has enough experience to cope with the many problems facing our country.
Another beautiful fall day with sunshine and a high of 78 this afternoon and 55 for tonight.  Rain for tomorrow and then cooler with highs in the 60's.
Nothing special planned for the day.  I have laundry in the washer right now and when I get that finised, I'll be free.
Kitabell, I sure hope they will be able to help Elmer this time and that he will be free from pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.  Good luck to him on his quitting smoking.
Betty, I'm so glad that you have found something that is easing your pain, also.  I hope it continues to give you relief.
Sally, have a great trip and I'm glad you are feeling better.
Y'all enjoy your day.
Hugs,
Genie
Hello Friends.
Cold and blustery here. History was made last night. I pray that God guides the decisions of our president elect.
Chance of snow tonight.
Have a great day.
Hugs
